What cancel culture ? They haven’t canceled any movies or shows ?
Disney doesn’t support anybody , they say one thing for one country and then erase or delete them in another.

What gives ? Parks are open , people are going to the movies

Interesting that retrumplicans think that this is a "win". But... here is a company that has been an American institution for decades. Has been both a institution for Florida and source on enormous revenue for Florida. And trump junior villainizes them because they had the audacity to criticize a law he was pushing?

I know it would happen because of the huge costs involved... but wish Disney moved Disney World to another state. Let Florida replace it with a republican theme park.

Florida House Passes Bill to Strip Disney's Self-Governing Status

One day after the Florida Senate passed the bill that would strip Walt Disney World of its special tax status that allows the resort property to more or less govern itself, the Florida House voted 70-38 to pass the bill.

Democrats — in the minority in the state house — tried to interrupt the vote with shouts and an occasional scream from the floor, but the measure prevailed.

The bill now makes its way to Governor Ron DeSantis' desk for his signature as Florida Republicans look to secure victory over the Walt Disney Company following CEO Bob Chapek's malign opposition to the recently-signed parental rights law in the Sunshine State.

 

Oh I know it's basically a race to the bottom for these red states. They will kill Unions, restrict EPA, give tax breaks all for the sake of jobs that go to transplants, not even their own natives.

Disney declined to comment on the legislature’s efforts, but the dispute is likely to end up in court, according to David Ramba, executive director of the Florida Association of Special Districts.

Ramba said he has dissolved a number of special districts, but never any that didn’t want to be dissolved and noted that “a lot of lawyers are going to get paid” as the parties work to sort out the operational implications of this bill.

Florida law dictates that special districts created by the legislature can only be dissolved with a majority vote of the district’s landowners. For Reedy Creek, that’s the Walt Disney Company.

“Nothing is going to happen,” said Jason Pizzo, a democrat who represents the state’s 38th Senate district, during the special session Wednesday. “Everyone in this room knows this is not going to happen. I’m just tired of missing my kid’s baseball games for stuff we know is not going to happen.”

Pizzo was among several state senators who spoke out against the bill ahead of the senate vote Wednesday. Many expressed frustration during discussion on the legislature floor, calling the legislation a “revenge bill” and “political theater.”

″[The governor] wants to prove a point,” Stewart said. “He wants to prove he’s more powerful, but I don’t think he’s more powerful than Disney.”
