Durant and Kyrie underestimate the importance of a system in winning/championship basketball. Durant could not win on an epically talented, albeit young, Thunder team because they didn't play a system. He won with Golden State with a system that made the game easier for everyone, made everyone better, and allowed for individual brilliance when the system was not enough. Kyrie won in the LeBron system which is a system even though it's a disgusting system. They didn't think they needed a coach and probably don't think they need a leader either.
I have no idea why this made me chuckle so much I'm such a juvenile. Yikes. Can't believe KD is getting that type of smoke.
I really think it's just the Boston defense making him look like that. no one said anything like that before this series when he was dropping 40+ games to get them out of the 10th seed. this Boston defense is as good as advertised and why they have a legit shot at the title this year. for the life of me I just don't understand why the Nets were still favorites after trading James for a couple role players and a guy who refused to play yet somehow got a back injury that still has him out. you can't have an ISO heavy offense without a playmaker. it worked for the rockets with James and cp3 because they could both pick you apart with the pass. works for lebron and Luka for the same reason. the Celtics failed with kyrie and all that talent because none of them are creators. the Nets were a .500 team before they traded for James. his playmaking unlocked their potential. KD and Kyrie have to make too many tough shots against good defense to win. they both have to play great and it's a lot to ask against a contender.
that too, but i seem to remember his crossover pull up 3 way beyound the 3 point line on pj tucker being quicker and unstoppable. Its that lateral movement i'm talking about. just a step but its a big thing. not that he's still not great, but he doesn't look unstoppable one on one.
Yea hes not a player you can just plug in IMO but they may as well try as they already have to win 4 of 5 against this defense to advance. You cant play him with drummond and you may not be able to play him in crunch time due to hack-a-ben. I honestly believe he is hoping the nets will lose game 3 and at that point they probably say screw it may as well hold him out than risk the injury since its pretty much over at that point and he won't have to play. There is no way he wants to face the boston home crowd in game 5. They will be on his head worse than kyrie because they know he cant respond with buckets.
I don't see how a guy has been on the sidelines for a year is just going to jump in and play well in a series this intense when he has no chemistry with his current team. This could make last years Simmons meltdown look good.
its not realistic but miracles do happen and the sports is full of miracles, that is why @Jontro is rooting for sports!
Anyone else want the Nets to lose so we can see where KD and Kyrie take their talents to next? Do y’all really think they both stay for another season in BKN? They ruined everything for themselves by trading Harden, it’s hilarious.
the nets aren't winning this series anyway. Boston is just better as a team. KD/Kyrie as good as they are can't do it on their own, not against this team
uh oh…Robert Williams is significantly better than Theis also, I’m gonna love seeing how Ben Simmons performs after not playing for the whole year 4 straight missed free throws after hack-a-Ben starts in game 4 might have him coming down with another injury unable to play in game 5 if the series goes that far
They are really setting ben up for failure lol If williams comes back I dont think they have a chance
Bruh, Simmons is going to get cooked. The last time he played meaningful basketball was like, 10 months ago. Now he has to immediately get put on either Tatum or Brown in a do-or-die game? And people are expecting him to be CP3/Harden on offense while being Draymond on defense? lol. I feel like the reason Simmons is targeting game 4, is if the Nets lose game 3, then there's no pressure on Simmons in game 4...teams just don't come back down 0-3. And if the Nets win game 3, Simmons either gets some credit for helping them win game 4 or he gets no blame for them losing game 4 since he's freshly back from not playing for so long. Gotta do what you can to protecc the young socialite.
