Twitter gave the Babylon Bee the Lieutenant Winters treatment, only problem is that like Winters the Bee simply called Captain Sobel's bluff

The Bablylon Bee was not banned. They are suspended until they delete a post that violates Twitter's TOS, and they've refused to do so:

Babylon Bee Suspended from Twitter Indefinitely - Protestia

We’re told our account will be restored in 12 hours, but the countdown won’t begin until we delete the tweet that violates the Twitter Rules. We’re not deleting anything. Truth is not hate speech. If the cost of telling the truth is the loss of our Twitter account, then so be it.

In this case, their "truth" is purposely misgendering a trans person, which has been in violation of Twitter's TOS since 2018. The Babylon Bee is free to make their political point without going after a specific person, but they've chosen to make their point by going after a particular trans individual who has not asked for any conflict with them, with their content going out to millions of followers. Sorry, I don't consider this suspension a great offense.

As for Iranian Mullahs, terrorists, etc. -- if you think Twitter should be banning such accounts because what they represent politically deeply offends you, regardless of what they actually post on Twitter, I'm not sure how that's upholding free speech principles in any way.

Babylon Bee is right, and it exposes Twitter's current management's lunacy.

You mean the lunacy of Twitter in 2018? Or are you referring to their lunacy in enforcing a rule that's been in place for over three years?

I don't agree with banning the Babylon Bee or even Donald Trump. I really think suspensions or better asking them to first align their posts with the terms of service before taking action.

But again, Twitter has a right to enforce their TOS as they see fit.

That's the first time I read that. Comparing Twitter (typically and mostly public conservation - aka public Town Square on Steroid) to Phone (typically and mostly private conservation - aka NOT in public Town Square) is stupid.

When Phone call is made public (said broadcast on TV), it's subjected to all kind of regulations. When it's private, no one give a damn. If a party of that private conversation has an issue with the conversation, they can report it. Said, if someone keep calling you and you want that number banned or report it to the FTC or whatever agency overseeing Phone companies.

With Tweets, if a Twitter user decided to make his tweet private, no one give a damn. If a party of those private tweets has an issue with the conversation, they can report it to Twitter. I don't think Twitter is actively scanning private tweets unless it's brought up to them by a user.

You just buy shares. Then if Musk makes a direct-to-shareholder tender offer, you can vote to accept. If it succeeds, he'll buy your shares. If he doesn't go that route, you can vote to replace the board whenever the next opportunity comes up.

As expected. I said he would go after the bots and here he's saying it. He also said he would authenticate real human. Anyone want to guess how he would do that.
