@Os Trigonum Waiting for White people to tell Indian people what words to use or say Kinda like when they told Latinos @MexAmercnMoose to use the word LatinX
Have people on the d&d thread seen Indian people? just wondering if they will accuse these dudes of Indian face @J.R. @Sweet Lou 4 2
Ok, just to be straight, I'm talking about misinformation that has a life and death consequences - such as telling people a vaccine is dangerous because the gov't is putting chips in it and not to get it.
These dudes are Indian and they are defending apu because woke whiteys think Apu is racist Apu is the only Indian person on that cartoon comedy is under attack As you can see how the woke loser mob is after chappelle and will smith slapping Chris rock proves it
Despite what you think, it's Indians who were offended, not white people. Just because there are Indians who didn't find Apu offensive didn't mean there are not ones who do. These issues are far more complex than simple dichotomies that people try to stuff them into and a lot of context is missing regarding Apu. Also for a lot of Indians, the issue wasn't that Apu was offensive or not, it was that Apu was the only representation of Indians in media and ignored the fact that there were Indians like Akaash Singh. A lot of these Indians are too young to remember what it was like 30 years ago.
this guy does a fantastic Steve Buscemi impression with his regular voice. I think it sucks that Monsters Inc discriminated against him when they chose Buscemi instead of him
Apu didn’t bother me. He was a funny character that people liked. Better that than making him some bland, non-distinctive character that no one remembers. I know people who feel differently about it. They don’t like that he was a stereotype voiced by a white voice actor. **shrug**
You are willfully dismissing the experiences and perspectives of several and probably large plurality of Indians who have had to endure the obvious stereotypes from non-Indians classmates, neighbors, co-workers and neighbors in favor of the one or two who validate racial intolerance for your amusement. The infantilizing accent and stereotype of South Asians working in convenience stores is one that originally lumped them in with middle easterners.
I find it incredibly racist that someone thinks that a single Indian speaks for the entirety of all people who hail from the subcontinent.
I may have received some mild teasing about it, but I tended to hang closely around friends or others who were teased for whatever reason, not the bullying or teasing types. That’s clearly not a solution — kids shouldn’t have to steer clear of socializing with others out of fear of being teased over their racial identity. It’s not healthy.
MFers don't know what the f*ck Woke means They trying to corrupt the meaning to suit their bullshit narratives. Rocket River
War on comedy is real @Os Trigonum Indian comedian defends Indian cartoon character @J.R. @Sweet Lou 4 2 Apu is awesome
Can you give the tdlr version of this 1.5 hr podcast? By the way, you really like this Akash Singh guy huh? I watched some of his standup, and his humor is very inside joke type of stuff. Like you'd have to be a minority or in the situation he is joking about to get the joke.
No You just have to not one of these dumb work people on the D&D who only think whiteys and blacks people exist in America. Ask the woke city council people in San Francisco when they try to take away merit based criteria for the high school for smart kids They got kicked off the school board
