This will get us an over-all 1 pick maybe 2 because it helps the league out.

we clean out the roster of ALL players not part of the rebounding process. Less Wall

    Nets
    In =Gordon, Wood & Mathews
Out =Irving & any available FRPs all unprotected

    Lakers
    In =Irving, Nwaba & Tate
Out =Westbrook & any available FRP’s all unprotected

    Rockets
    In =Westbrook at least 5 FRP - 2 from the ‘76ers
Out =Gordon, Wood, Tate, Nwaba & Mathews

Westbrook & Wall on the same roster FOR future picks / HOPE. In time both clear out the cap moving forward

    the league gets better, too.

Or try to make the best team possible with their time with generational superstar hoping for the best because the picks aren’t helping them. Remember they gave most of their picks for Harden then sold low on him for Benny. Durant, Wood, Simmons with Gordon, Curry & other solid role players could/should find success. Better than are now, for sure. EC finalist floor. They are paying for the timing of the trade. Durant only sticks around if there is a chance of winning.

    1) Why would Brooklyn give up their one pick they can trade to unload Kyrie? I feel like better offers for Kyrie are out there...

    2) Lakers giving up their only picks for Kyrie is more reasonable but i still think is unrealistic.

I'm not sure where you are getting 5 picks from...

Lakers can stretch Westbrook if they want to sign a couple guys...

    Ok yeah.

that’s not what posted. Trading Irving and picks for wood and Gordon does not = your post.

But picks and Irving for something gives you a better shot? Sure

Before you say Irving has no value I know that. Still more value than what was discussed though.

Durant is under contract to stick around... for many more years to come...

He wants to pull a Harden he could potentially be sitting the rest of his career...

Not realistic in the same division, but i think it's fair...

    To Spurs
    Christian Wood
    #17 pick

    To Rockets
    #9 pick
    Zach Collins (ng)
    Romeo Langford (ng)

    Spurs have:
    Murray
    Johnson
    #17 pick?
    Wood
    Poeltl

    That's a solid starting 5...

Rockets pick a big man with their first pick and a starting 3 with the #9 pick while saving some cap space and not taking on additional salary..

A starter at Wood's age is worth 9 to 17 in my opinion if I'm the Spurs...

That's possibly not a terrible idea for the Spurs. They could probably get someone like Agbagi at 17 (Johnson at the 3), then they have 21 and 24 to pick for upside.
Very hard organisation to predict though.. also hard to judge where they see value!

Where is this Jalen Johnson obsession coming from?

He started 11 ganes in the g league and didn't shoot well at all. 30% from 3 doesn't make him a stretch 4.

His rebound and assists are healthy but it's against inferior competition...

Here's his per 36 in the g league:
    23.3 Points
    12.2 Rebounds
    4.7 Assists
    50.5% efg%

He's also a terrible free throw shooter which doesn't bode well for his 3pt shooting future. His 57.1% is slightly better than Dwight Howard's career 56.7%.

This is a league where Jordan Bell gets 10.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists.

Here's another guy in the g league per 36...

    19.5 points
    14 rebounds
    3.2 assists
    58% efg
    62.4 ts%

That's Petr Cornelie, 26 year old french stretch 4... Pau Gasol numbers there...

So don't be too impressed by Jalen's stats...

So many stupid and hateful people, who call themselves Rocket Fans!!!!
Why would you trade the Best Rockets player for the last two seasons?
We dont have to overpay pay Wood , just a decent contract to keep him with
    his team................ ! Y

I like it. I also think we should be targeting those teams in the Portland- Charlotte draft range (6-13) because we could offer a lot of different packages to move up while possibly consolidating roster spots and/or getting advantageous contracts back. Maybe we turn four of the 2021 rookies into 3 as a way to break into the top 10 and/or get Dyson Daniels. Lots of possibilities with this draft.

I think most people recognize that he sucks and is worthless when it comes to trying to win. What contract would you be willing to give him? I’d be ok with something like 3/36 but i’d still rather trade him or let him walk

So was Ben Simmons. If a star players wants out now, it doesn't matter how long their contract runs. They get out. That said, I don't really see Durant asking to leave. He has Kyrie and Simmons. So if those guys can ever reliably play basketball again he should be alright giving it a go for at least another couple seasons.

But man, they just really shouldn't have even traded for Harden. They'd be so much better off if Jarrett Allen was still on the Nets. They could have also gotten something worth having for Caris Levert, who I don't think really did benefit them much. The depth to couple with Durant and Kyrie would be more valuable than having Harden or Simmons. That team is so shallow now.

You may not personally like it but let’s remain truthful.
IMO, It’s a better than fair return on unreliable Irving. All three rotations worthy players would add to team success and each fills a need on the Nets, The Wood and Simmons pairing are like Ying and Yang. Same size and would cover up one another’s short comings.

    only the best to you.

You’re right in one way for sure. Who the hell knows how much value the league gent has on Irving. It may not be much at all in regards to giving the get 35-40 mil a year whatever his max is. I sure the hell would not do it no matter the skill level which will be lower by the end of the contract.

I don't really dislike Wood. Most of the year, I took the approach that he was still young enough to be part of the rebuild if we wanted to keep him. He was the best player on the team, but it was the worst team in the league. The reality is, he was brought here to take some scoring pressure off Harden. Once Harden was gone and the team transformed, he kind of became the primary option by default. Since his acquisition, the Rockets have entered a full rebuild and acquired KPJ, Green and Sengun. Those are the players that the Rockets will be building around and they all play better when Wood is not part of the rotation.

My hope is that the Rockets are able to package him in a deal for a player or additional assets. I just don't think this team is a good fit for him anymore. But they did give him a chance to showcase himself and hopefully he gets the money he is looking for.

Like Jalen Green, Jalen Johnson had a tremendous Summer League. Johnson, like Green needed consistent playing time to improve.

Jalen Johnson also shot 44% from 3P% his only season at Duke.

He also averaged over a block and over a steal per game, 2 way player.

And Jalen Johnson is a point forward that can create for himself and teammates, most effective in transition.

Morey made it a point to find/acquire players before they broke out.

Sometimes he was too early - Ariza, Morris, Patterson, Covington

Sometimes he was too late - Nene, Ryno, Wood

And sometimes he was just right - Lowry, Dragic, Bev, Parsons, Capela, EGo, PJ, Jeff Green

So the nets trade by far the best player in this trade and two additional first round picks. To get our scrubs??
