Mass shootings have gone up 60% in the past two years. We went from 417 in 2019 to 694 in 2021. We had seven mass shootings across the country yesterday on Easter Sunday. So far we have 140 mass shootings already this year.
everyone went crazy during the Pandemic since the Pandemic started, it looks like more and more people have lost their mind
Yes, and when you have over 400 million guns in the country with millions of crazy hotheads, it's a very dangerous sign of the future when mass shootings are getting worse and worse. 20 million more guns were purchased in 2020 alone.
well the gun problem is never gonna go away a lot of people have serious mental health issues and no regard for human life people will send out death threats as easily as saying hello, and will kill somebody and not even think twice about it
Agree. We need to address the mental health problems, provide affordable healthcare and help for those who need treatment and prescriptions, do more behavioral profiling, and enforce stricter gun ownership requirements. It's a combination of many things. The guns won't go away, but we can't ignore ways to do more to help prevent more and more and more gun violence.
If this was under the Trump or any other republican administration, OP would be sure to note the correlation. No Cred.
Don't say what I would or would say. You don't know me. I've said some of the things I believe we need to address. I didn't make this a red or blue issue. The violent offenders and mentally ill come from both sides of the spectrum of voters.
We are now at 146 mass shootings this year as of today. Mass Shootings are, for the most part an American phenomenon. While they are generally grouped together as one type of incident they are several with the foundation definition being that they have a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident. https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/
This is my assumption too. Not just mass shootings, but murders generally. In which case, we should see a dip in 2022. Is it happening?
could be a few years before things simmer down seems like empathy and compassion are at an all-time low I just saw a video of a white kid in some high school saying he wanted to lynch and kill all the black students…people do not value life
these days, u don’t even know if the day u happen to go shopping at HEB is the day some crazy person waltzes in and starts blasting any school could be the next that gets shot up
There might be some long tail consequences from the pandemic that continue to elevate murder rates. But, we should at least see significant progress if it was covid-induced. People are working again, going to school in-person again, ditching masks, going to clubs and getting laid. We are looking far more normal than we did the last couple of years. The stress has got to be lower now.
