2020: What Are You Watching - Corona Edition

My family has gotten hooked by "Old Enough!" on Netflix. Its a Nippon TV series that has been running for years about small kids being sent on "errands" by their parents. Each episode last about ten minutes... and once you get past the "sending little kids on long walks or bus rides including alongside busy roads, crossing streets and walking across bridges, you get hooked by how cute the little kids are and how everyone helps them accomplish their "errands".

 

Bunch of good shows coming out in the next month.

That's how I read it from the previews.

It seems like X-rated loony toons.

 

Tokyo Vice has been pretty good so far. Other than two quibbles. The narrator obviously thinks he's the leader of the cools. He doesn't know how to smoke a cigarette and every time he takes a broken drag it hurts me. Serious stuff here.

Enjoy the ride. It's sooooo strange, keeps you guessing which is what I like about it.

 

Rewatching Stranger Things right now. Man the show is still just as good today as it was 6 years ago.

 

Also just started watching Severance. I'm enjoying this more than anything I've seen in a long time. Fantastic intro sequence.

Finally watching the latest Ozark episodes. I'm finding myself struggling to get through them. I think I've hit the point where I just don't care about any of the characters.

 

I like this show too but I dont understand why its so wildly popular. People really love it.

 

Has anyone watched FROM on Epix? It's basically a Horror version of LOST without the beautiful scenery.

It also reminds me of that show on Netflix - The Society.

If this was on Network TV or HBO I think this would have gotten more publicity. Nobody has Epix.

 

I have it saved on DVR.

 

1st 2 Eps of Under the Banner of Heaven were very good

 

I can't get into dramas of actual events but it looks good.

The same happened with the People vs OJ.

 

I have several shows I did not finish, but I enjoyed, are they worth finishing?

I'm finally finishing up Vikings. I stopped halfway through season 4. I don't feel like it kept the same charm it had in the beginning. It became too plot heavy with less focus on the characters. Only about 5 episodes left.

 

Watched episode 1. FANtastic! Roberts and Penn killing it, but the prosthetics team steals the show. Totally forgot I was watching Sean Penn. And the criminally underrated Shea Whigham NAILS Liddy.

 

Shea Whigham is one of "those guys" who is great in everything.
