Chris Paul raised the floor on that bottom OKC team, enough to the bubble playoffs. If we were patient, imagine what he could do with the youngsters here. And talk about the rookies learning things from Paul.

KPJ was a particularly terrible ISO player last season, If he’s getting shots in winning time it’s probably best if he’s coming off a screen or spotting up in the corner while Green or Sengun ISO’s.

I think KPJ should try to mimic what Iggys role was on the prime Warrior teams.

James Harden was the horse that carried the team onto the battlefield, Chris Paul was the dagger that killed the kings. Tilman Fertitta was the inbred son who rose to inherit the kingdom. I think this analogy is working.

It's times like this when I think, maybe Harden didn't know exactly what he had to do

Underrated comment. And frustrating all the same. Fair to inquire (as many have ad nauseam) where the team would be the last few years if that Westbrook trade wasn't made. No guarantee the Rockets persevere in 2020 or 2021.

I think, as luck would have it, more than likely had they not won in 2020, it would have been broken up either way.

Still incredibly frustrating seeing Paul's absolutely remarkable turnaround from the shell that he was in 2019 to where he has been in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Now the only caveat to mention is the Suns have done a GREAT job at keeping him fresh. They're a VERY versatile team and are DEEP. Had the core stayed together, I think it would have been fair to consider moving past D'Antoni who had the reputation of running players into the ground.

That's honestly what astonished me with Morey and D'Antoni...Morey must have known the limits. He also must have known Harden ceased the mid-range game after his 3rd year with the Rockets. It was so weird. As good as they were, they could have been so much better.

But to the point, would the Rockets have landed someone like Ty Lue or Monty Williams? I doubt it. And that ultimately seems to be a big factor with how Paul is playing: he's able to coast until late in the game and still be extraordinarily lethal.

Now let's just see if Paul can stay healthy for another full playoff.

Paul was closest to the perfect teammate that Harden could have asked for or will ever have. He allowed James to be James in terms of scoring but when crunch time hit Paul was the guy we needed. Damn that hamstring.

CP3 showed up in the playoffs, but Harden had that team winning and keep the top seed in the West despite CP3 missing 24 games that regular season. They both needed each other to keep the team afloat and Harden was definitely the better player on that team that season. In the playoffs they both played like the best player in the team.
