People are right to be angry.

40% of the country is in a radicalized cult and its hard to see a resolution without bloodshed.

I don't think it is fair to say that all conservatives are "a radicalized cult". Connected tissue - but the demonization of everyone who isn't leaning the way you are is an indication of a radicalization on your part.

But it's understandable to some extent.

    Sad state of affairs.

It would be good to see some de-escalation from the moderates in both parties. More bi-partisan efforts, less aggressive rhetoric.

There are many people not leaning the way I do that are not demonized. I am moderate.

I do not agree with most of the liberal platform, other than "leave people alone." Despite our lack of common platform, we still share facts and common goals for the country.

This simply isn't the case with the modern conservative party.

As an example, do you think DeSantis is satan/a fascist or "just a Republican"?

Well to be honest I'm not on the GARM much these days because I'm not sure what the Rockets have been doing the last two years can be called "Game Action"... ;)

I disagree with AroundtheWorld / SJC many a times and have told him he was being overly hyperbolic. He's said some pretty unkind things about myself. As I said not really worth it to dwell on such things and would rather laugh it off when some calls me "weird and having a soft spot for Islam".

Ron DeSantis is a power hungry opportunist, much like a Ted Cruz.

He will adopt whatever principle, no matter how disgusting it is, to help further his power.

He will use his own kids as political props, sell out his family, whatever the cost is.

He does absolutely nothing to serve his representatives and is the type of person who would would sell out his country in a heartbeat to an invading enemy.

He should be absolutely nowhere near any position of power in any shape or form.

It’s too easy for people to just post tweets or graphics mocking the other side and not try to actually listen to and understand what the other side is saying. There’s more ways to avoid having actual conversations as a result, it seems like.

Certain posters also seem to get off on being as insulting as possible against others they have disagreements with. I guess they get a dopamine hit out of it or something. It would be cool if we were wired to get that same rush when we start to see things from another person’s POV and recognize the limitations of our perspectives, but unfortunately that’s not how it is.

And don’t forget a foreigner. You don’t see me and you with daily hot takes about the CDU vs the Farmers party. The only foreign leader we talk about a lot is Putin and that’s because he literally is trying to overturn our democracy so he can stay in power and happens to also be bombing hospitals, threatening to nuke the US, and trying to start WW3.

It really is quite something for someone whose country’s “conservative” president is Angela Murkel to have such hot takes about Texas politics and judge Texans who have to deal with this ah$t. I think it’s perfectly fine to have an opinion about foreign politics but at some point you are just a foreign troll.

I don't think I have ever commented on Texas politics (other than saying I find Cruz slimy, but he works in federal politics).

Also, Angela Merkel was chancellor, not president.

Furthermore, from today, I am a legal resident in the US, like it or not.

Finally, your post is (once again) proof that xenophobia on the left exists just as much as on the right.

The far right is an absolute joke. The far left is an absolute joke. Both are an embarrassment to the country.

I'm new to this country, can you tell me a few from both parties you respect and I should follow? Thanks.

In Congress, if “far right” is Margerie Taylor Green and “far left” is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I’m hesitant to equate the two sides.

You're often just a troll in D&D, @tinman, whether you realize it or not, with all due respect. You spend an incredible amount of time insulting the forum and those who post in it, except for a handful of members you consistently "call out to" for support in your posts. You do it with "buzz words" and "catch phrases" used in such a general way as to make them meaningless.

Fellow members attempting to have discussions about a variety of topics here have to wade through your numerous threads often packed with dishonesty. Heaven forbid that someone disagrees with you about something. You become obsessed with whatever topic that disagreement might be about to the extent that you sometimes carry that D&D baggage into Hangout.

It's like D&D has become a new "toy" at the BBS that you suddenly discovered several months ago and, rather than simply becoming a participant in the discussions that are going on, you're determined to make as loud a "@tinman noise" down here as you can make. There are times that half the threads on the first page here are threads you started, many criticizing one aspect or another of the forum, with the irony of that going right over your head. Mr. Spock would have said, "Fascinating." I have to add, often boring.

I’m not the one trolling, it’s everyone else

for example only @pgabriel and I care about crime

@rocketsjudoka and I see the only ones who care about Asian violence

@AroundTheWorld and I care about wokeism

    @Jontro and I care about women’s right

@Space Ghost care about the advancement of technology
