The leftist pro-mask crowd ignores science, data and facts.

That's because it's not really about "science", it's about control.

This is not a serious opinion. But you be you.

To be clear... the following comment is in no way, shape or form advocating for mask mandates...

That tweet is disingenuous. COVID cases were already plummeting when he lifted the mandate...

    January 12 - around 19,000 cases
    February 16 - around 3000
    March 1 - around 1500 cases
    April 14 - around 1200 cases

02/16 is when he signed the order
03/01 was when the order needed to be 'enforced'

The tweet was obviously not saying that lifting mask mandates CAUSED covid cases to drop. That would be stupid.

The point is - if the point of masks is to prevent transmission and if masks actually had a meaningful effect, wouldn't you expect covid cases to go up, once you lift the mask mandate?

    Yes, you would.

    But they didn't.

Because the masks don't make a difference. Certainly not the cloth masks.

They are "covid theater", as Governor DeSantis correctly called them.

Yet, that random Twitter poster didn't say that. All the random Twitter poster had to say was that COVID cases have not increased since the lifting of the mask mandate, yet he incorrectly said that cases have plummeted since the lifting of the mandate.

    They have gone down.

Not even sure what you are trying to say. I mean, you yourself posted the numbers.

Right. He used the phrase 'plummeted since the lifting of the mandate'. Not sure how hard it is to see that they 'plummeted' before the lifting of the mandate which is what their numbers show.

They went from 19,000 at their January peak to 3000 the day he lifted the mandate, so they 'plummeted' before the order was lifted.

THAT IS ALL MY POST WAS SAYING.

Have you spoken to the random Twitter poster? If would have been incredibly easy for him to say that, yet he didn't.

Not that I care, but it's not really that hard to understand for anyone with average reading comprehension and common sense.

It's the truth, backed by facts and data. You have nothing.

Look at this graph and then explain to me what conclusion about mask mandates you draw from it.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/16/health/global-covid-deaths-who-india.html

India Is Stalling the W.H.O.’s Efforts to Make Global Covid Death Toll Public
The agency has calculated that 15 million people have died as a result of the pandemic, far more than earlier estimates, but has yet to release those numbers.

An ambitious effort by the World Health Organization to calculate the global death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has found that vastly more people died than previously believed — a total of about 15 million by the end of 2021, more than double the official total of six million reported by countries individually.

But the release of the staggering estimate — the result of more than a year of research and analysis by experts around the world and the most comprehensive look at the lethality of the pandemic to date — has been delayed for months because of objections from India, which disputes the calculation of how many of its citizens died and has tried to keep it from becoming public.

More than a third of the additional nine million deaths are estimated to have occurred in India, where the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stood by its own count of about 520,000. The W.H.O. will show the country’s toll is at least four million, according to people familiar with the numbers who were not authorized to disclose them, which would give India the highest tally in the world, they said. The Times was unable to learn the estimates for other countries.

If only the WHO could have taken such a strong stand when it came to debunking China's lies.

    Oh.

    Wait.
