At this point I don't even believe that. Dusty just never plays guys after a good game this year. It's completely out of control.
I woke up at 11. Figure we'd be in the third inning and Neris is pitching the 9th. 2:36 game time. It's almost like the old days.
Pena has gone 0 hits, 3 hits, 0 hits, 3 hits, 0 hits, 1 hit, 0 hits, 3 hits He's sitting out on his 0 hits day.
Despite having above average to elite numbers in basically every contact metric, we are currently next to last in BABIP at .229. While it's been kind of aggravating to watch, the fact that we're still 5-3 despite that is pretty fortunate.
You do understand rookies will burnout over 162 game season if you don’t manage their load? You have heard of the rookie wall? It can minimized by not over working them.
I don’t think its unreasonable to give Pena some rest from time to time, but we have had a plethora of off days early. Seattle by most estimates is the our main threat so a win or loss has a double effect. I think we should always put our best lineup on the field when we are playing them or the Angels. Rest Pena when we are playing the Rangers of the world.
Regardless of the result today, this road trip is a success. At a minimum 5-4 on a 9 game 12 day 2 time zone road trip to start the season. Almost a month without being in thier own beds. With that being said. Let's finish the trip 6-3
