We still have a lot of picks and only so many roster spots. The Brooklyn pick is a lot more valuable now than they originally thought it would be. Being at 17 gives you the ability to move up in the draft if there is someone they really like. Something to look into imo.

Very happy where the pick is, so can't complain... But (as I proceed to complain) Cleveland screwed this whole thing up in the end. Loss after loss piled up for that team. How do you lose to Orlando down the stretch?

Caris LeVert trade was just a bad move.

#17 pick it is. Now... To find a way to move up.

They could of had EG, an experienced veteran, and decided to go with LeVert. That was dumb.

Doubt Wood would be worth that much but maybe Portland wants one final shot with Lillard.

Probably Wood, Ego and 17 for the 6.

    Portland channeling Bernie Mac: "Sheeeeeeyit."

Maybe switch one of our young decent bench dudes for EGO, maybe.

that would be nice but wouldn't we have to take back salary to match?

The Fakers losing their top 10 lotto pick to NOP is hilarious. How many times do teams include future firsts and get burned? They got their Mickey Mouse ring out of it though.

If Stone can pull off the #6 and somehow, someway land Ivey they would have to crown him the King of GM's. My guess is we'll end up with the 2nd pick again (fingers crossed) and likely end up with Jabari. Go all in with the new crew and play:

    P.G. - Jaden Ivey
    S.G. - Jalen Green
    S.F. - Kevin Porter Jr.
    P.F. - Jabari Smith Jr.
    ..C. - Alperen Sengun

I'd watch every game. Ivey at 6 is highly unlikely though.

folks should keep in mind that there are other teams armed with significant draft capital that could be fighting to move up as well. OKC, Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte, Portland all seem to have current and future draft capital to be players…along with us. It could be competitive ;) But Portland is in win-now mode around Dame and the other teams have been rebuilding for years and need to show wins for it. So it may be interesting to see how willing these teams might be to make or facilitate deals for proven talent like Wood and EGO.

Move up for Tari Eason or trade pick + EGo/Tate for Jalen Johnson.

Rockets have urgent need to upgrade on defense and get longer in starting 5.

At the time, I think we would've been around #13/#14 in the lottery which would've meant that position would've had about a 2.5-5% chance to get another top-4 pick.

I think Sharpe at 6 is more likely. Then it'd be

    Porter/Green/Sharpe/Jabari/Sengun.

Thats a lot of talent. But very young.

I agree that sengun won't become any taller or start jumping any higher. we will likely need a center who can provide more vertical defense and offense. however I disagree that we need one with one of our picks this year.

I would prioritize developing the investments we made before creating logjams. by that I mean we already invested 2 first round picks in 2021 in centers, albeit smaller centers. I think both sengun and garuba are ultimately centers and not PFs. sengun does not have the lateral speed to defend most 4's on the perimeter and I would worry about overall speed, rotations, and spacing if we placed him at the 4 next to a traditional center. I think garauba has the lateral quickness to play the 4 defensively but probably won't have the shooting to play with another non shooter. spacing would be an issue on offense unless you put him next to a center who's shooting 3's on offense and blocking shots on defense.

I do think sengun can develop a 3 (I think he's wayyy closer to that than garuba). and when/if he does, he will be productive offensively against almost every matchup. defensively he can improve, although he will never play above the rim. guarding the post is mostly about strength. that's what made harden and pj tucker such good post defenders. chuck Hayes too. he's only 19, when he gets stronger, learns to get to the right spot at the right time, learns to take charges and defend with verticality I don't see why he couldn't be average on defense and very productive on offense. overall a plus. bring in a vet minimum vertical threat like McGee's or whiteside to come off the bench, there's always a few guys who fit that bill.

I would rather give sengun the chance to prove he can get there before bringing in a replacement after a very successful rookie season.

If they missed the playoffs, they’d be in the lottery. So who knows. Maybe they’d win the lottery and get us the #1 overall. LOL
