Yea man. With NBA diet and training facility. Plus him being young with fast metabolism, gaining muscle is not hard.
Based on the teams slotted in those positions, Rockets should have the opportunity to move up anywhere from 6 to 16. Hopefully Tate and Wood still have value around the league.
It's not supposed to have any effect on this year's lottery, but I take solace that, in the past three years of these new evened out odds between the worst teams, the #1 worst team each year has still failed to pick 5th like all Rockets fans are fearing. 2019 - Knicks worst overall, got the #3 pick 2020 - Warriors worst, #2 pick 2021 - Rockets worst, #2 pick It makes me think that the NBA won't screw us over this time around either.
So excited about this draft but also bracing myself for ending up with the 5th pick, missing out on all the top 4. Then missing out on all the other talents that will go before 17… sad face
Not sure what we actually offered, but there were lots of rumors the hold up was PJ Tucker. Rockets didn't want to give him up. Could be true, could be false. Jimmy was a "headache" to some with how he handled Minnesota. Rockets would've won multiple rings with Jimmy/CP3/Harden... Clint?
I think it is going to be extremely difficult to move into the top 11 if all we are offering is 17 and Wood or Gordan. You might be able to entice the Knicks if you add Tate, but that’s about it for me. The re-build is on for most of the top 11 with the possible exception of Portland, San Antonio and New Orleans and we would easily be outbid for the 6th, 8th, or 9th pick unless we offer future draft considerations. If we want to compete next year our best bet is to go for a vet like Myles Turner with the 17th and future lottery protected picks or likely crappy picks plus filler. If you don’t want to compete next year then we just stay put or trade out of 17 for a future draft pick. People are seriously overvaluing Wood, Gordan, and Nwaba on the trade market.
Yeah but there were loads of rumors of us wanting to trade for him. Morey Def would trade for a player knowing he might not re sign with us
For real. KD went through two seasons of tanking to get Russ and harden before they made the playoffs
You could straight up trade Wood for Turner which is a good deal for both sides. I’d like to give them Gordon for a pick too but with Brogdon, Halliburton, Hield, and Duarte they are more logjammed than we are.
Hearing about the draft and watching the playoffs reminds me that we once had Dillon Brooks as our 2nd round pick and immediately traded him to Memphis for a future 2nd round pick. I think that pick ended up being Melton who we also traded.
