Doing away with content moderation while not simultaneously addressing the bigger problem of "the architecture of viral dynamics", as Haidt puts it, will be a big mistake.

That is correct. All of these people are idiots. Poison pills have been used for a long time - there's nothing illegal or contrary to shareholder interest about them. If the shareholders aren't aligned with the board, they can vote in a new board. Musk has the option to put out his own slate of boardmembers and push for a vote.

if I'm a shareholder, how is the board diluting the value of my shares in my interest?

aren't they just printing money at my expense?

Do you think all instances of this tactic to stave off hostile takeovers are breaches of fiduciary duty to shareholders?

It comes down to whether one thinks it is indisputable that accepting Musk's offer is in the shareholders' best interests, doesn't it?

While I don't agree with much of what this guy (ran reddit at some point) says, I found it an interesting read (long thread).

So according to you, this is over with as a result of Twitter's poison pill.

    Bookmarked.

We will see how smart you are, with your smug, know-it-all attitude.

Elon could sell his shares and push the stock price further down
And then buy a majority stake when it’s way cheaper

    one thing Elon has is
    200 billion

overwhelming of his fortune is in the form of TSLA stock, a much lesser amount for Space-X

even at his bidding price of $54/per, Elon needs to find financing help, hard cash, as he doesn't want to sell his TSLA/Space-X stocks

This is the one thing I know 100% will be true.

Since @tinman is a fan of all things 90s he'll understand the analogy. Elon right now is Stone Cold and Twitter is Vince. Everyone roots for the guy to throw over the table and give a couple of middle fingers to the authority but once he becomes the authority?

Day 1 of Elon owning twitter if it happens a bunch of people will post and spam every story he's tried to hide about himself, every story he doesn't like, and dare him to do anything about it. The other response will be the edge lords testing their new 'free speech' on the platform. The worst kind of sexism, racism, homophobia will hit twitter and if Elon dares to ban any of them they will direct their ire at him and if he doesn't...well, as this guy mentions the edgelords tend to have very real world consequences for the crap they spew on the internet.

From there, every issue twitter has, everyone that gets banned or suspended, Musk will take the fall and blame for that.

And you don't think he could do that?

It's always poor form to harass people to pay for something. I'll make sure I'll never contribute as long as other members harass me to do so. When that stops, I'll happily contribute!

Although there is the potential it could lead to disaster due to his unpredictability, I would like to see what he’d do in control of things. Your predictions seem quite likely.

Seems like an excuse. Why would you not contribute to Clutch's cost of running this site just because someone else other than Clutch is urging you to do so? Your logic would only possibly make sense if it were Clutch who were "harassing" you, but he doesn't.

Do you donate charities that try to shame you into donating?

Imagine going to a store and some guy, another customer, harassing you, calling you cheap, poor, etc etc because you won't buy what he tells you to buy.

Tinman is basically that South Park episode...

I doubt I'm the only one that's annoyed by it...and this has gone on for years now...

tinman is not Clutch. Clutch is the one paying for this site to be made available. So your point is really not valid. Whatever tinman says shouldn't be a reason for you to contribute or not contribute.
