James Harden: No Pressure Entering Playoffs

James Harden claims he is feeling no pressure to perform well in the playoffs with the Philadelphia 76ers.

"Pressure, no. I feel good," Harden said after Thursday's practice at the team's facility here with a smile. "I'm ready to hoop. There's nothing to it."

Joel Embiid said his co-star just needs to be himself, and let everything else take care of itself.

"I tell him to be himself. He's been doing a great job of being the playmaker but we need him to be aggressive and really score the ball, especially against Toronto," Embiid said. "With the way they guard me, we're going to need everybody. We're going to need Tyrese to be aggressive with all the attention that's going to be on me and James, Tyrese, Tobias, all the other guys, they have to make plays. He just has to be himself, and not worry about people talking about pressure. Whatever happened in the past, you look back at what he's accomplished and what he's done, he had to play against a dynasty. It would have been hard for anybody to beat those Golden State teams, so bad timing. But I'm sure it's going to be fine."

Harden also has insisted he is entering the playoffs healthy.

"It's good," Harden said. "I've actually been doing some sprints and some hamstring work this week, so it's a really good week to prepare myself for this first round."

I like it. Embid sprinkling that pressure seasoning on Frauden. "We need his b**** ass to score". And Frauden countering with the hammy excuse

None of those other guys wore a fat suit and started throwing balls to teammates so he'd great traded.

You keep glossing over what Harden did and then wonder people dont like him lulz.

I dunno about others but for me the only distinction I have are making playoffs, Finals and winning the chip. Tmac not making the 2nd round vs a clearly more stacked Jazz team vs Harden not reaching the Finals vs a more stacked GSW team, its all the same result which is season failure to me.

I dunno if you were a Rox fan back then but back then Rox killed the regular season and got 4rth seed in the most competititive West era ever. When they lost in the 2nd round I didnt give a **** about their regular season record, so your years of winning with Harden its the same ****. Getting first seed and not even making the Finals, thats a massive failure. All those regular season wins dont mean **** if you cant even make the finals. You might as well have tanked the season and gotten a top pick for your time. Imagine if the Rox sucked in 2018 we could have had Luka. Well the Rox didnt suck but they didnt win either, so next year instead of Luka they got Melo and Crippled P3 smh.

At least Tmac didnt collude with other players and get Rox to trade for them at high cost only to get rid of them 2 years later.

so in other words, cca 25 teams this year would be better off tanking instead of trying to compete because their chances of winning are almost zero?
in other words there should be no nba...

    i never understood that mentality

why do you have to **** the best looking girl in the school?
the tenth best looking is good enough to me...

Yikes. If a huge % of your shots get blocked in the regular season, imagine what's going to happen in the ...

Probably not great that Harden a top 5-10 player most of the past decade is being compared to a rookie.

Prior to this season only around 11% of his 2fga shots have been blocked. https://www.pbpstats.com/season-sta...EntityId=201935&StatType=Totals&Table=Scoring

Harden getting blocked more as well as his career low finishing rate at the rim are cause for concerns entering the playoffs. But his career high rate of getting to the line would also somewhat mitigate this problem.

The key for Harden will be regaining some of his burst/explosiveness and aggression that's only been sporadically on display this season.

Its alot easier blocking a skinny man than a fat dude driving to the lane looking for a whistle.... Green will only get better from here on out, Harden... Welp I guess he already reached the top of being a successful athlete according to some so no pressure...

Harden had 536 FTA. If we ignore the and-1s, 3-shot fouls and techs, and assume they are all 2-shot fouls, that's 268 2P shots ended in fouls.
    544+268 = 812
    93 blocks = 11.4%
    268 fouls = 33% (That's a huge amount!)

Since Harden hardly shoots any midrange, we can also assume that almost all his 2P attempts are drives.

Conclusion: When Harden drives, 40+% of the times end up in fouls or blocks.

What does tanking have to do with there being no NBA?

If 10th place is good enough for you why we even trying to compete? No need to spend any dollar on top stars just get gleaguers signed to vet min deals, you'll come and watch as long as they play hard amirite?
