But if you get him in now he would be all caught up by the beginning of next season.
I understand the reasoning for it but the Rockets won't do it.

He should be at least interviewed for the job post Silas, and be locked up as a top assistant if not HC.

He’s familiar with coaching a g-league level team so you know he’d fit.

Abdelfattah is a no brainer to add to Rockets coaching staff.

Abdelfattah plays fast on offense and tenacious on defense.

Let's see how smart Stone and Silas will be.

Plus he’s passionate and has his guys’ back, which is particularly important with a young team. He’s a proven winner as HC on a smaller level which often translates to the bigger stage. The formula is already there for him to be a great NBA HC.

He knows the Rockets system inside and out.

And he runs it much more efficiently too.

Dude is a winner to boot.

indeed, if the franchise lets him get away it could be a huge error. The Vipers had a swagger, an edge, and an expectation to win. That starts at the top, and he has his players bought in.

Vipers GLeague coaching tree is way better than Pops. We can't let them get away anymore

Man, this is so true. I could see SA grabbing Abdelfattah to follow Pop. I would be pissed.

He'll just get picked up like Finch and Nurse.

I can see the Rockets being late again.

We need a coach who can maximize defense, but we need quality defenders first.

There will always be another chance at getting Finch and Nurse. Head coaches rotate in and out every 3 - 5 years. It's not common for coaches to stay on longer than that.

I have an idea though, why don't we swap our coaches out. Send Silas down to coach the G-League and bring Abdelfettah up here to coach in the NBA. If the results are the same as they were last year we'll know it's the players (or ownership) but if Abdelfettah is able to get the Rockets into the playoffs + and Silas has the Vipers in the gutter we'll know it was the coaching.

    Who says no?

I think if he loses Doc he's more likely to promote one of the Assistants there like Dave Joerger or Sam Cassell. I'd love to have Cassell over here!
