the subway security camera not working that day is inexcusable

if he hadn’t had dropped some personal belongings on the platform while escaping, his big ass would’ve waddled right out of the subway and right outside city limits

literally all they had for hours was black, 5’5, and fat thanks to witnesses

I am just speaking on this particular issue, not race relations as a whole, or the platform the media provides within their social media communities for these folks to spew forth whatever.

I never said all mental issues were the same. I realize some people learn to cope with mental illness or depression, but not all do, especially when off their meds. I said I think all domestic terrorists, serial killers, etc..are mentally ill. That's just my opinion. Psychiatry is nothing but an educated guess. I don't find randomly killing a bunch of innocent people something any sane person would do.

Also of course he wanted people to know it’s him

    Humans want recognition
    It’s inherent
That’s why most crimes of this nature can be solved

like the dudes who steal cars and then posting themselves on Instagram

self-snitching has been an epidemic for centuries

people will post the murder weapon on IG, confess on FB, and post the vlog of their crime on YouTube telling u to hit the notification bell and subscribe

What good is doing a crime if nobody knows what u did?

I think the most important thing we can all do in the wake of this horrific incident or any tragedy, is to try and use it to alienate other Americans who have different political views than we do.

What greater good can from this if we don't use it to further divide us.

Thankfully, it seems like we are on the right track

shooter's sister says he is not mentally ill

Sister of suspect in Brooklyn subway shooting says ‘he’s been on his own his whole life.’
Frank R. James, whom the police apprehended in connection with the attack on Tuesday, was born in the Bronx but spent his life moving from city to city, his sister said.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/13/nyregion/subway-shooting-frank-james-sister.html

    excerpt:

She confirmed several details about her brother, including that he was born in the Bronx in 1959, and that he often moved from city to city, never remaining in any one place for too long.

But she said that she spoke to him only occasionally on the phone, and that she did not know what he did for work. They had not seen each other face-to-face in a long time, she said.

Still, she said she was “surprised” to see him named as a suspect in Tuesday’s shooting.

“I don’t think he would do anything like that,” she said. “That’s not in his nature to do anything like that.”

Asked if her brother had sought mental health treatment, Ms. Robinson said he was not mentally ill, and bristled at the suggestion. “There was a lot that went on through our lives,” she said. Later, Ms. Robinson added that their mother had died when Mr. James was 5 years old.

She mentioned that Mr. James had appeared on podcasts and YouTube, seemingly referring to the suspect’s prolific posts on social media.

his sister’s opinion doesn’t mean much since she sounds like she barely knew him…might as well have been distant cousins

the guy pretty much did all the detective work for the NYPD…dropped the biggest pieces of evidence, and then called in his location

meanwhile, the NYPD was scrambling going off of he’s black and fat

It's not a funny situation but the incompetence of the NYPD and listening them take credit for the apprehension is kind of funny. Like, this dude called in... you get no credit.

I disagree with this take. Mass shooters might not be part of a physical group but in many cases they are radicalized online. We have seen it with both Muslim and white radicals. There are definite connections between white nationalist shootings across the globe.
