A lot of these voters need a swift kick in the nose for all of these awards. When is the NBA gonna get away from this shock jock type stuff and make it about fun and good spirited competition.

Sports isn't supposed to be about cursing people out for no apparent reason. Thanks to the internets, we have every other minute of our day for that.

Of course I realize this is the NBA I'm asking about. It has fundamental attribution bias and thinks its success is because of everything it has done, instead of just the things that have actually worked.

I don't mind Simmons usually but that is such a stupid and bizarre take that my IQ dropped by 100 points after reading it and I am now drooling onto my keyboard.

This might just be like Harden residue or something on the Rockets that has the media hating on Jalen. Overtime they will come around sooner, assuming he continues to perform, because Jalen is more likeable. Large social media presense and he's a Zoomer (Gen Z) so can connect with younger fans better

Bill Simmons stopped being cool when ESPN shut down Page 2 and if you remember when that was then you know it's been quite some time since he had anything good to say.

Jalen is young and just getting started. The question is can the Rockets organization actually build a champion? They've only done it once in their history.

Twice actually and we constructed teams that could compete for a champion quite a few times as well

Jalen has a higher PER than Jones, was speaking mostly to WS. Unless you don't value scoring much, I don't see how you could say that he isn't head and shoulders ahead in counting stats. But if that's just a difference of opinion then fine.

That's fine, was just pointing out that others voted in by BS on the first team were not held to that standard. Cade even had negative WS this year lol.

Does it really make sense to criticize someone for describing something silly they did as a 1st grader?

if it’s Bill Simmons, yes, lol. He seems kind of proud of himself over it -- like, "what a cool mistake that was for me to make at 6" (?). But I'm not a fan, so...

Haha. OK. I did read his book several years ago, but I admit I don't remember that part.
