Why? You call this a serial killer? Oh look, a black man went ballistic on people! I call that domestic terrorism incited by hate or anger! People going on shooting rampages, drive by shootings, plowing down people or blowing them up at parades or concerts, racial hate killings, or people going ballistic in a Denny's or a church with multiple rounds wasn't what I was referring to when I was talking about serial killers. I wasn't talking about domestic terrorists. Serial killers are a different breed. I'm talking about guys luring or stalking like predators and then abducting multiple women, teens, or children and raping and torturing them before they kill them and dump the body or cut them into pieces. You know, the ones who start out by torturing animals as kids. The psychos who get off on dominating and controlling and torturing someone. The ones who stalk and prey for weeks, months, or years until they are caught. Those are serial killers. By the way, I am white. Strictly going by the subway incident, many were shot, but none has died (thankfully). Technically not a serial killer. He's more in the mold of a mass shooter. To be a mass shooter, four or more has to die. I was looking at the FBI website, and there is an interesting article from their symposium. Some of these categories below were discussed in detail. It's far too lengthy to post excerpts, but very interesting. It rebuked many of my thoughts on what a serial killer actually was according to the FBI. I guess I was thinking more of just the true psychopaths who enjoy and crave torturing or sexually attacking victims before they kill them, but their definition includes several categories and motives. The Gilgo Beach murders.... there is a lot of bad stuff happening there........ There are a couple active serial killers out there.... they seem to like the escorts, and used to use craigslist to get their victims.
The Long Island serial killer is the craziest high profile one right now. Some crazy stories there. Even crazier is that I was in Scarborough, Maine a year or two ago. Albert Fish...crazy one. Some people think he just liked getting off on writing lewd notes to people and may not have actually done what he claimed. Still was likely a serial killer, but possibly not as bad as he says he was. If you want an interesting theoretical one, look up the Smiley Face Killers. I know of a fairly local case that fits the bill on this to a tee. It's fascinating.
