Don't agree with this take. They learnt alot about the speed of the game, what NBA defenses and offenses do. There was plenty of learning going on naturally, along with all the individual skill development they were doing.

Can't go from zero to hero in one season.

Probably true, JVG would be an amazing college coach but that ESPN money is surely an easier path

What I find interesting is that the Rockets will be adding at least two more young players with our pick and the Nets pick… so the team will be even younger.

The Rockets organization lacks a clear culture of philosophy.

i dont even care if jvg is head coach, asst coach, developmental coach, advisor - or whatever...

i just want our guys to know that if they are dogging it on defense - they're gonna have jvg waiting on the sideline to discuss their lack of effort... lol

How much more winning culture can a team have?

After Harden's pampering culture, they still have no culture other than stats padding when they have the hot hand.

If you listen to his rare interviews, you could still hear that he wants his young rookie stars to get what they wanted rather than earn it.

Winning culture is more than showing off personal wealth.

I am sure all 30 team owners are packed in money.

Honestly got to feel for Silas... Work your ass off to get to this position and then have to tank. Knowing damn well it's his career and reputation on the line.

    I miss Mike D'Antoni!

Not just a basketball savant but he is hilarious AF.

That's why his players loved him - he fit innovative system to players, simplified roles & empowered players AND most importantly kept them loose at all times.

    Redick interview was funny.

    Winning starts with a mindset.

In his third season as head coach of the Rockets’ NBA G League affiliate, Abdelfattah steered the Vipers to the top regular-season record in the Western Conference (24-10), earning a bye in the NBA G League Playoffs presented by Google Pixel. Under Abdelfattah, the Vipers led the league in points per game (124.5), free throws made (12.4), offensive rebounds (16.5) and total rebounds (51.4).Since being named head coach prior to the 2019-20 season, Abdelfattah has led the Vipers to ... two consecutive playoff appearances.

Exactly, they have no clue what they are doing. They will need a new coach after next year. When this team is capable of winning Silas will not be the coach. I would never have hired him but they like a lot of these teams fixate on "their guys" instead of someone who is going to be independent and break ****. What is clear is these guys need to develop their bodies and fundamentals. They lack discipline and having a poor leader is not a recipe for success and hiding behind a 62 loss record is no excuse. Losing is supposed to be hard, building is supposed to be hard. I don't see someone with purpose driving the ship and forcing that reality on the players. There is talent there that will only get stronger. You cannot leave them fending for themselves forever trying to fit someone's stupid scheme rather than developing a system to capitalize on the talent and holding them accountable on both ends. You play the right way and play hard you get minutes, if not sit down. We can lose just fine without you.

I am not interested in the big 40 point game this or that player has. I want to see the team effort around 4Q defense and rebounding that wins 10 of the 20 games you lost by 5-10 points because you just gave up the previous year. Be that team that can have two max slots but can win 30-40 games on their own simply because they play hard.

He is going to be a head coach soon.... and hopefully for the Rockets.

He is really really liked by his players, he busts his ass and is really smart.
