It'll be an interesting case study for sure. I don't think it's persuaded me of anything yet. Green and Scoot are top level talents and it's highly likely they succeed in the NBA no matter which path they take/took.

There's just not enough data to really say too many definitive things about it considering its evolving into a place for players to get paid out of high school, learn how to be a professional, go up against grown men, get back in game shape, and work on particular weaknesses, etc. I think it's foolish to assume there's some kind of refined algorithm for players like Green on how they'll perform their first year in the NBA.

I certainly don't watch enough games to have a solid opinion either way so I could be wrong

I think you have it backwards. Some of Green's detractors were saying he didn't score a ton in the G-League. Not that scoring a ton means a lot in the G-League.

There's also been a lot of short-sightedness for a young player's production output.

Ex: Green was creating a lot of separation to get his shot off but kept missing the shot. Certainly the name of the game is put the ball through the hoop, but being able to create separation is an elite skill in the NBA and given enough reps the shot % should eventually go up.

Not trying to defend KOC 'cause I think his take was whack but when he picked his 1st team all-rooks he did say that it was close between JG and Jones and that he had no problem with anyone giving to Jalen instead.
    Can't locate the video/audio atm.
Personally I just can't put someone on the 1st team that doesn't even average double figures (unless he's Dennis Rodman).

In this video KOC does say that while Jalen won't be rookie of the year he has a chance to be the best player out of this draft class.

Interesting to see Hyland so high on those advance stat lists.
Gotta admit I'll be comparing him to JC in the seasons to come.

A lot of people wanted suggs for hitting that game winner and saying he going to be "a leader among men" his rookie year.

everything about Suggs was so overhyped predraft

“he’s a winner” - Gonzaga was great before he even got there and had returned most of the roster

“he’s a leader” - no way to even measure that or know for sure

athleticism hyped up because he was a 2 sport athlete…you’d swear he was pre-ACL D-Rose out there

I didn’t even really think about it, but Cade got robbed out of Eastern Conference rookie of the month. Should’ve been JG and Cade.

Why does the media hate the number 1 and number 2 picks so much. Never seen anything like it. Cade and Pistons fans are PISSED.

Yeah. I certainly wouldn’t use those numbers to project future success. It’s a statistical account of what happened in some various impact stats.

You look at the season as two halves and Green was probably the best or 2nd best rookie of the 2nd half of the season.

But I think these rookie teams are based on what happened this entire year and not too focused on what will happen in the future. This was a really good class of rookies. It’s not insane to me that someone would leave Green off the rookie 1st team especially considering how rough his first half of the season was. And I think he has a very good shot of having the best career of this class when it’s all said and done.

Cade averaged 23, 6, and 7 on 48/32/83 splits, and they give it to Barnes who averaged 17, 8, and 4 on 51/24/70 splits

it was a robbery in broad daylight with no mask while posing for pics with the security cam

Damn. Green was 10 points shy of leading rookies in scoring.

KoC had Killian Hayes no 1 in the draft so I dont know why people take him seriously
