I wouldn't mind moving on from Silas. It's possible that he is an elite assistant/developmental coach. He has yet to show he is HC material and not in over his head though.

It's called building a parallel path.

You can do BOTH at same time.

I really don't see the point to be honest. I feel like every championship won in the past 15 years have just been teams that either drafted a Super star, or a bunch of super stars colluding to form super teams.

I think culture at this point in the NBA is just media drivel, it's probably the least important thing when it comes to actually winning.

An organization without a set culture is doomed to fail.

Need to establish clear core values and mission.

I've ruminated enough on your pointless point that even you have given up trying to defend.

I don't see the point to bashing a coach during a tank season.

Serious question: Has there ever been a coach that led the helm during a tank season that subsequently led that team to the NBA Finals? At best, it's rare.

    This.

I think Silas is part of the bottoming out phase of the rebuild, and will be replaced after next season. I'd bet we won't be making the playoffs/play-in next season but not being a bottom 5 record either. Unless we got a bit of luck with player development and/or in the draft/FA then we are still on track for a multi year rebuild before competing.

People complaining about "tanking" wont be complaining once the Rockets snag Jabari or Paolo.

    Short sighted mofos.

This offense with a 6'10 PF that can shoot threes takes a HUGE leap forward.

    @D-rock @Nook

why was this allowed? This means they didn't really learn anything this year until he finally put in plays at the end.

Well fasten your seatbelts because Rockets will be even younger next season with 2 more high draft picks and fewer vets.

But your question is better directed to @The Cat than me.

Made a quick edit, I am starting to believe what nook posted about Silas doesn't enjoy coaching younger players and enjoys having vets because he doesn't have to coach them.

Maybe but it means getting rid of the KPJ PG experiment first and foremost. The Hawks game reminded us of how and why KPJ hasn’t won in this league. Losing plays. Losing Basketball.
