Not saying who to pick…. But Ivey is 6’4” with a 6’10” wingspan with a lot of athleticism and quick feet that move well side to side and backwards…. Yeah, he can defend and has the physical attributes to be a very good defender.
It’s offensive everywhere…. Some people say offensive things out of laziness and not spite or ugliness… but no one thinks it’s the sensitive word to use.
I could envision Green and Ivey together, but its hard to see all three, if you include KPJ. KPJs play lately makes for some tough choices.
They could make it work…. there would be back up guard minutes and a lot of minutes at SF with 3 guard line ups…. Even if Porter got 20 mins a night and half the back up guard minutes, he would get 32 mins… about what Green and Ivey would get.
I like how you reference teams who achieved great success by massively tanking and then end your sentence with no more tanking.
I like how the insult to Jabari is actually a 2 time all star and NBA champion. If the Rox get the top pick I hope they dont overthink and just get the obvious choice. He or may not be the best player in this draft but he is definitely the best fit next to our young superstar.
I rather we draft one of the big man then another guard. We really need more defense/rebounding presence. Kpj can b the faux pg if he up his scoring per game
I’ll say it again, Chet is the best fit, the highest upside and most immediate impact. Elite shooting, elite defense, elite length and elite mentality. Good handles, good passing, good athleticism and great at his role early on. Fits perfect with our two young potential stars in Green and Alp.
So, I know no one wants to think about it, but let's assume worst case scenario for a minute and say the Rockets end up picking 5th in a supposed 4-man draft. Is it crazy that I'm kind of OK with that and drafting Murray? I'm by no means a draft expert, but what I've read and watched of the kid, he just looks like a perfect fit for what the Rockets need right now. Can score without the ball in his hands. Elite 3-point shooting potential for a player of his size. Solid handles for a big. Versatile defender who rebounds and blocks shots well. I keep seeing comparisons to guys like Horford and Siakam, which I love. I know we're all looking for that top tier superstar, and I am, too. But I just think he's going to be a damn good NBA player, and they could do a lot worse with this pick. There's things about his game I like more than Banchero, for example, even if I acknowledge Banchero is the superior prospect.
It's not crazy because when you are the worst team in the league, anyone you draft in the top 10 should easily replace someone you are currently starting. So, it's a win no matter what. I think we ultimately transform our team through a trade, but its important that we hit on our picks and draft players that are at least solid contributors.
Would you take him over Shaedon Sharpe? Both seem like elite talents. Ivey seems like he's have to be the pg and not sure KPJ would be happy being a positionless guy off the bench even if he does get 30+ minutes. Given his tight relationship with Green, seems that picking Ivey could go sideways potentially.
I'll rent out a flatbed to put your car with you and Tate on it so you don't have to put any miles on your car.
I’m saying if we tank again , the bar better be great success ... not just .400 if we tank again next year rockets fans should demand 45+ plus wins the year after or we all go away . tanking is treating your fans like **** . The Astros had to earn their fans back by being great after tanking . OKC left Seattle . Seattle fans wouldn’t support more tanking . 2 years is enough . Is what I’m sayin if all you are trying to do is get a top pick for 3 straight years ... well I could be the GM in that situation . I could be the coach in that situation . Where’s the progress ? It’s gotta translate . If you think that’s a bit impatient , then so be it . But the rockets will have to earn me back . I ain’t buying a ticket to watch a 20 win team . I don’t care how many dunks we get . if tanking leads to such great success maybe we should do it 4 years in a row , 5 even ! there’s always some hot prospects at the top of the draft . If green leads us to wins next year and the year after we can just sit him out ! After all , getting more top picks is the name of the game ! I know I’m being hyperbolic . But , the slippery slope argument applies imo . I’m ok with the 8th pick next year . But if we are the worst team again I will be disappointed. if you are the worst 3 years in a row , you are trying to be bad . It’s a disservice to the fans . UNLESS you are some real hot **** IMMEDIATELY after . let’s tank 3 years so we can be a 35 win team in year 4 ! ... bro , does that sound like a good plan ? I could achieve that plan . And I don’t know the first thing about being an nba gm .
