If a job is permanently shift work, the pay is the same regardless if they are on days or nights. Any 24 hour operation, whether it is a refinery, amazon distribution center, or the like, don't pay their employees X amount for their 3-4 days on and then a higher amount when they transition to their 2-3 nights on. Now overtime or holidays are a different story, obviously. If someone strictly only work nights, I am sure there are some companies that may incentivize if that person got to chose whether they want days or nights. More times than not, that happens when a company has more day employees than night employees. But in this case, that person only does one or the other and their pay is also the same.
Shift work does not usually involve you working days and nights, it's usually one or the other, and every time I have worked nights it came with bump in pay. That was in the private (shift work) and public sector. I have not heard of many jobs that transition to days and nights it's usually one or the other, I don't know if Amazon does something different but I have had a lot of shift work jobs, and they all paid more at night, even if it was working a double shift.
Some do, some do not. My friend Dustin makes more working nights, but it really takes a toll on him. The increased prices cover the increased costs of getting employees to work nights. There apparently isn't enough workers willing to work nights for the wages offered at these places or they would be open. The other option is that there isn't sufficient demand, but I doubt that as they were open pre COVID and I have seen numerous cars attempt to go into these places. I think it is overall good, if it is possible we need to have better working conditions and a more fair distribution of wealth.
I actually really like Dominoes. There, I said it. I also usually tip about 50% because of all the reasons listed in this thread.
I had a friend that sold weed while being a chinese delivery driver. Whenever someone ordered lots of extra chopsticks it meant they wanted some bud. I wonder if someone actually ordered lots of extra chopsticks and was disappointed they received bud.
No shame in that, and I'm pretty snobby about pizza. Is it great pizza? Of course not, but as far as the big chain delivery places, it it by far the best. Their crust and sauce, the 2 easiest things to screw up on a pizza, are solid.
Oh yeah, my go to when I order every so often is medium ham & onion pizza and the spinach and feta cheesy bread.
Like a burger, it’s hard to mess up a pizza. Majority are average, but never are really bad. But there are some that definitely stand out above the rest. if you can’t make a mediocre pizza or burger you shouldn’t be in the restaurant business.
I was impressed with Pizza Hut's Detroit Pizza. We're supposed to be getting the real deal from Austin fairly soon.
I know you do. Get a random greasy slice of cheese/pepperoni pizza on a random storefront tonight. Mmmm...good.
Truth of the matter is that all pizza is good. Was only kidding. I just happened to be spoiled with how much great pizza I have around me. Not kidding about that
