Harden in his first season with Houston: - was 2 years older than KPJ is -had played about 4,000 more minutes than KPJ had at the start of this season -had played about 150 more games Harden wasn’t even really a point guard until D’Antoni and had Beverly to help as he learned Give the boy a break now
If he didn’t walk out at HT he wouldn’t get the hate he does. IMO the team should have probably not put it public but he has responded to it but people don’t care they just wanna hold that against him.
Be a fun story for our 30 for 30 dynasty documentary once him & Jalen are the greatest backcourt in the league
KPJ isn’t going anywhere. I expect a long term extension for him this summer. Kiss the Jaden Ivey experience goodbye!
Thing is we probably don’t have to sign him yet, we will have another year next season on his rookie contract plus the qualifying offer. Don’t see the need to rush it with him unless it’s a friendly extension team wise for now.
None of us know Stone & KPJ relationship but I think Stone tells him if he can go until next years all star break without a “incident” then we will start putting a contract together. I also wouldn’t give him a big long term either. I’d rather give him shorter extension. If he can go additional 2 years without much trouble then I’d give him the big money once he’s proven maturity I’m just worried of RFA. If KPJ shows he is maturing & starts to consistently put up 20+ points per game, I’m scared somebody like the Hornets or the Memphis will over pay him to play SG or SF next to guys like LaMelo or Morant Actually think a lot of teams might overpay if he shows maturity, consistency, and continues to improve
Harden was already an amazing passer and consistently ran the offense when he was on the court for OKC. Miles ahead of where scoot is today. Let's not cheapen the second best player to ever suit up for the Rockets just to prop up players on our 60 loss team.
Harden never averaged more than 4 assists for OKC despite averaging 30+ minutes a game his third season. Let’s not tear down current Rockets just to partake in revisionist history.
This board: "Harden was an AMAZING passer when he averaged 3.7 assists a game in 31 minutes per game for OKC, and KPJ SUCKS as a passer as he averages 6.2 assists a game in 31 minutes per game for the Rockets!"
Haha I’m not cheapening Harden. Living with a Spurs & Maverick roommates I’ve gone to war arguing for that man I just saw that on Reddit and thought it put into perspective how young he is. People expect a All Star vet first year in a rebuild I never think he’ll be Harden but he doesn’t need to be. Green & Senguns playmaking will help balance that. He just seems like a Harden-light with a better 3-point shot and I’m excited to see our backcourt next season
People have an agenda - for the most part, it looks like they think KPJ is taking shots away from their favorite player Green..... When the reality is this team is better with Green and KPJ sharing the scoring load. DD
That poster maintained that Harden consistently ran the offense for OKC and was “miles ahead” of KPJ in doing so. Call it what you will. I call it revisionist history.
Kevin Porter Jr last 6 games: 35/10/4, 4 threes 36/2/4, 6 threes 21/6/8, 4 threes 27/11/4, 4 threes 30/12/12, 4 threes 26/9/7, 3 threes LOL - dude is playing great......and we got him for NOTHING.......NOTHING!!! We got a building block, a budding NBA star, for zero - that is amazing..... DD
KPJ is giving me hope. My favorite play he made last night won’t show up in his highlight package because Sengun missed a layup I could make. This is a high level point guard play. More of this! More plays like this and he is unquestionably a building block at point guard. I was down on him earlier in the season because he stopped getting to the basket. My point guard has to operate in the paint and not just on the perimeter. This is where the work is done.
I’ve been saying turn that man loose and let him cook for months. Trying to square peg, round hole him had him looking like a bum half the season. 21 shots per game later over the last 6 games and this is what you get. Free flowing Scootball. He’s not trying to be what he isn’t, just playing ball. KPJ and JG unchained has been a revelation. KPJ sharing the ball a little more early in possessions and getting it back with a scorers mentality is nice.
