He is a very talented player and the Rockets are now lucky to have him. I know they did their best to accomodate him. I see his touches diminishing with another Top 5 pick. Those Top 5 picks are cancelling each other out unless they evenly split touches.
That is fine they will need to be more efficient...better to have three 20 pt scorers than one or 2. DD
As somebody who has CONSISTENTLY talked tons of **** about KPJ, I have been very, very impressed with how he is finishing this season. He is playing under control, not trying to do to much, shooting the hell out of the ball, and getting to the rim and finishing like a bona fide superstar. The main thing though, is his attitude has improved drastically. You don't see him throwing his hands up after no calls, sulking back on defense, or leaving the arena in the middle of games (lol). I honestly wonder if they convinced him to get on antidepressants or something, because, as Hollins keeps pointing out, he is at peace. Whatever was eating at him before doesn't seem to be there anymore. I was ready for him to be gone after some of those episodes this year, but if he continues to carry himself like this, he is a building block. I will happily eat crow.
Absolutely insane how much better he has played and looked in general without Christian Wood out there.
That explains the turn around… In the mean, KPJ recent play recently has started to win me over some. I can definitely see us moving forward with him. I am looking to see how he can improve next season.
I absolutely think Wood being out has been a positive for both KPJ and JG. It has empowered them to establish themselves as options 1A and 1B on offense. This has been evident in their aggressiveness looking for their own offense. They’re shot attempts averages have skyrocketed. KPJ averaged 13.9 points on 12.2 FGA prior to the last 6 games and averages exactly 21 FGA over the last 6. JG averaged 15.9 points on 13.4 FGA and is averaging 20.7 FGA over the last 6. These are significant increases. 9 and 7 more shots is a lot. Before tonight Green was almost taking 10 more shots.
That phrase doesn't really work when the ONLY on court variable that's changed is wood being gone, lol.
He's been better since he cut his hair (and since Wood has been out). Actually found Alpi near the basket with a good pass, but Alpi fortunately fumbled it.
To me, there are multiple "tiers" of building blocks at the moment. Untouchable: Green, 2022 Top 5 pick. Tier 1 (Likely starters): KPJ, Sengun Tier 2 (potential starters): Christopher, KJM, Garuba, 2022 Nets' Pick Tier 3 (rotational pieces): Mathews, Tate, Nix Wood and Gordon, to me are on a different tier in that they are likely to be traded within then next season.
I wonder what led to his shooting becoming so much better? Something weird happened where both KPJ and Jalen started to shoot much better, pretty much at the same time. Is it just more practice?
Y’all better start showing some respect! He might leave at halftime but he is also the only one that looks ready to die on the court for Houston lol
Whole team looks better without wood tbh, the ball movement at times has been amazing for how young the players are. How many NBA teams have a proper PG that starts every play anymore?
H Ball movement, he takes more iso 3 pointers at the end of the shoot clock that hurt his %. When he catch and shoots his basically an elite 3PT shooter, KPJ that is.
