Bro its year 1 of the rebuild you already complaining when the Brooklyn picks get fulfilled? The issue with Davis is at 29 he is too old to help Green and our young studs win a ring when its their time to shine. Green isnt winning a ring 20 yrs old lol try 23.
I wouldn't be opposed to a trade for AD. It's a gamble, yes, but you're hoping that his injuries turn around like CP3's did after leaving us. That said, I'm not sure we'd have the right package for him. I'd trade Wood, Gordon, Tate, and Matthews + a protected FRP (maybe Milwaukee's pick unprotected) and a second protected FRP (I'm not sure if it could be an "our choice" scenario where we decide to give them our or Brooklyn's pick, whichever is worse, one year). Is that enough? I don't know. If the Lakers are going ring chasing, that trade makes them worse, unless AD really has declined in which case makes them much better overall but sucks for us. If they're rebuilding, the draft compensation isn't enough. The benefits I could see for them is Wood who they could extend on a pretty friendly (non-max) deal, Gordon and Matthews as knockdown shooters and defenders on a team lacking shooting and two way players, and Tate as a good all around player, plus the picks.
I figured this trade idea for AD was based on getting Harden in FA. It's basically relying on those two stars on their last leg with our young players and closing our asset window. Harden year 16 and injured AD year 13. Getting a disgruntled Durant and Harden after this year in FA could have made sense if we moved out the salaries but that was never meant to be and I don't want either of those players. You have to look at Ja and some of these other players and especially ones that have not broke out yet. You need to identify the next generation of stars. That is why it is best that we stick with drafting and developing those players and finding other ways to acquire them.
Why am I going to trade for him if he's going to just sit on my bench most of the time in street clothes? Close this stupid thread.
AD is a bad contract at this point. Christian Wood has more value on the trade market. On the worst team in the NBA you dont trade for AD and pay him that money, the guy is living the LA dream he got his ring, he is known for not putting in work in the off season and they say his injuries are due to poor conditioning now , initially people chalked it up to bad luck, but we now have a decade plus of data and the LA paparazzi know what he does. It is better to have a player be 70% as good and play 90% of the games at 1/3 of the price.
Just say the words.......Do not want both. Draft Jabari or Chet and never look back on Wood. The Rockets would not do it.
