With all due respect, to move up in a draft that is 2+2 top heavy, and then has decent width 5 through 20, would be a bit silly (to my reading of the draft!) There are a few swing for the fences picks who will most likely be available late lotto, and some guys who might pan out as solid rotation guys who will be available until 20. Personally I think cashing in a future draft pick to move up to mid lotto is irresponsible. We'd be better off using that pick to move up in the future OR snag a talent who isn't getting opportunity
welp, time to close this thread brehs. the nets are going past the play-in and high probability (above 80%) to winning the championship
I say trade the pick and a player while taking back a unwanted player for a future asset. Roll it over if possible. This opens up more playing time for the 8 guys under 24 on the team already. Which if the Rockets do use the pick this year the odds of a Garuba games played is fairly likely next season.
If they get their butts kicked I think that is much better for the chances of the picks down the line being good. Going far in the playoffs or even winning it will attract other players and increase their competitiveness likely. If the Nets fall apart somehow those picks are a gold mine. You could trade those and a few of the younger players for a top 20-25 player pretty easily probably.
Focusing on the 2022 draft is so basic. I'm still workshopping this but how about for the 2023 draft: "Screw Your Momma for Wembanyama"
This. Watching a fictional movie is often more entertaining than watching the news even though the news have more impact to our lives.
The part he is mssing that I find most exciting, is that it can't just be #13 or #14, it can be #1, where as #15, #16, and #17 are locked in. I know the odds are low, but at least we have 2nd ticket to the lottery. The odds of getting the number 1 pick with Brooklyn's pick is ccomprable to playing the powerball with 3 million tickets. Still probably around 1% chance of winning, but all you need is one ticket to dream.
