If nothing else, KPJ and Green have looked like a really good 1-2 scoring punch with Wood and Gordon out of the lineup. That’s a positive thing.it’s something. We can work with that.
No, valid criticism is always fair. Sengun does need to work on his 3 ball, 25% from 3 is unacceptable, but there's a difference between criticizing current performance and giving up on a 19 year old player. I know that's too nuanced for some to understand, but that's okay, I don't expect those people to be able to follow along in conversation.
I am not 25 or even close, and I don't know why people think these guys can't co-exist? How do they detract from one another? What are you seeing that says they can't play together? I don't know if they can win at a high level, but that is more about the team around them than those particular guys.
lmao is it just me or did kyrie make a question about jalen and kpj entirely about himself? haha im dying
Preach brother. It's amazing how some tie themselves into knots trying to denigrate what KPJ is doing. You can just as easily do the same with Green fans. No one player is the cause of this team having the worst record, to try and blame that on KPJ shows you have an agenda.
Y’all are going to create a villain after he reads clutchfans and joins Morant in free agency and knocks us out the playoffs every year. Then Green gonna go join his boys in Memphis. Or we can show KPJ some respect and Ja come join us
The criticisms of KPJ I've heard are hilarious, even when he plays well you hear" "He's not getting real assists" "He's shooting too much" "He's trying to penetrate to much" "He's trying to penetrate too little" "He hasn't improved at all this season" "He hasn't improved at all in his career" He's improved. He's turns the ball over less, his three point shot is better, and he puts effort forward. Does he make mistakes? YES! He's 21 years old. The concerns that a lot of people have would be concerns of mine too if he was 25 or 26. He's still developing. Peeps need to have patience. We lose a game last night because guys like Mathews can't shoot and Tate taking awful looking jumpers. Mathews single-handily put us in a hole. Yet KPJ is the one getting criticized after scoring an efficient 36 points with just 3 TO's????
Whether or not some of y'all like it, KPJ is here to stay. The Rockets have expended an immense amount of resources to develop him and it's starting to pay dividends. Now, I don't know the exact role -- I personally like the approach last night, namely, stagger the PG duties between KPJ and Green. That's an easy 1-2 punch to build around, particularly with a strong pass big man like Sengun.
If the goal is to have kpj b like a harden pg. Then sure I'm down. What I can't wrap my head around is the folks that have been btching about harden For years about his iso ways and heroball ways are now praising kpj for doing the exact same sht but more inferior to the beard. Like u can't possibly b watching the games and say ya this is the teamball playstyle we been advocating for years.
I never noticed you as a poster until you quoted me. After looking at your recent post history real quick to try to get a better understanding of who you are as a poster, I see what looks to me like troll-like posting behavior so all I'm going to say is I don't know why you hate Twitter, but I also don't really care. Much like this place, Twitter has become an outlet and safe place where people can share in each other's fandom by sharing stats or videos that people may find cool or interesting, and with the addition of the "Spaces", it is growing even more popular as people can congregate in large groups and communicate in real time. If I or anybody else shares a random idea from Twitter, it's because it expresses an opinion that I or they agree with. Doesn't give the post credibility per se, but serves the same purpose that a re-Tweet would. If that triggers you, that's just a you problem. Things may have been done a certain way in 1999 when the internet was still fairly new to society and what that meant to our daily lives, but it's 2022 and social media drives everything these days.
AG - Attacking Guard We have 3 really good ones in Green, KPJ and Jgup and a traditional PG for contrast in Nix. Now we need height, and skill to replace role players like Tate - and we might need to trade Sengun if he can't develop a 3 ball. DD
Mental timebomb is valid. But his passing has actually been fine. You realize that only KPJ and Green were making their shots last night right? Not getting an assist if teammates not hitting their shots.
I have no idea why people were nitpicking his game in the Nets game thread. I actually think that KPJ can create out of nothing at the moment better than Green can because he's stronger and have better ball handling. That's why Green always defaults back to KPJ if the offense dies, because KPJ was hitting really tough 3's out of nothing off the dribble. Green needs space to work, KPJ doesn't need as much.
I'm not talking about the nets game, I'm talking in general. Alley oops, fast break passes, pnr. Kpj can do the basic pass to a man at the 3 point line but he lacks the vision or creativity of a point guard to do more. Idk y folks thinks it weird to want an actual point guard to control the offense. Kpj is capable of scoring from the bench. If the goal is just to have kpj play like an inferior harden, then sure. I do like that kpj is showing up to take the shots and converting when everyone else isnt.
Interesting Rockets stats: Leading scorer: Wood (17.9) Leading rebounder: Wood (10.1) Leading assists: Porter (6.2) Leading steals: Porter (1.1) Leading blocks: Sengun (1.0) Porter averages 3.2 TOV with 6.2 AST. Green averages 2.0 TOV with 2.6 AST. CF believes Green should play more PG but the efficiency would be a disaster. And Sengun's AST:TOV ratio is almost identical to Green's. Yet CF eye test is that anyone but KPJ should be the PG. Baffling.
KPJ has only ONE bad turnover game since Green caught fire. That was versus MIN when he had 8 TOV. Otherwise he has really improved in this area in 2nd half of season.
Might sound like I'm being nitpicky, but Even in the tweet link video of potential assists there was lack of pnr, alley oops or any diversity to his passing abilities. K he can do the basic pass to an open shooter but that's something most folks can do. That's my only complaint. Hes a good scorer just lacks the ability to play make, that's just me.
