Let me know what parameters I can use to compare Jalen to Lou Williams and Kobe Bryant to see which player Green is closer to. Should be a fun exercise.
I didn't... i said as of right now. That assumes his current play and not potential for improvement... I'm sorry if you didn't understand the context... maybe you'll understand it better as: Worst case he's at least a better version of lou williams now... Maybe you can understand it better phrased that way when someone says as of right now he's closer to lou williams than kobe. I didn't say equal to or the same, he's between the two... Read closer...
lou Williams took 9 years in the league to crack 20 ppg. When people compare him to Kobe they aren't saying he's as good as prime Kobe now, they are saying that is his ceiling. So maybe stop using strawman talking pts so you can compare Jalen Green to Lou ****ing Williams. For someone who is b****ing about not understanding context how the hell did you get people comparing him to Kobe as "he's as good as prime Kobe now" rather than "his ceiling is Kobe". If you want to say 20 year old rookie Jalen Green is as good of a scorer 29 year old prime Lou Williams, sure but it seems like you are invoking his name because you felt insulted people were comparing Green to Kobe.
It's hard to find elite scorers who play little defense and are below average rebounders/passers.... He is 19 though... hoping he gets better... asof right now he's BETWEEN lou and kobe but closer to lou.... I choose to not ignore defense.... it's half the game...
The way your tone is, it seems like it's rare for a 19 year old rookie to improve? Like no **** he isn't prime Kobe at his current age. Kobe wasn't pre Kobe at 19. Wtf is your point?
What's your problem with Lou and why are you changing the topic to how green will play in the future? We know what he is right now... that is what i was commenting on. I hope he improves but it's not a guarantee...
And when did modern fans become so dismissive towards scoring as a talent? Yes it's far more rare and important to a team to find a elite scorer than someone who only is elite in rebounding or playmaking. Elite scoring is very important. Many players have gone to the hof just from elite scoring.
My tone? Why are you brining up improvement when i said right now? I hope he improves. Odds are pretty good he will. I'm just not awarding the guy for something he may not do. I think the issue is you got upset because you misunderstood the words....
What are we awarding him with? What claims are you offended by exactly? Saying his ceiling is Kobe? That's your dumbass' fault for reconstructing that as "he's as good as prime Kobe right now".
Idk some folks are acting like green is still a bum on defense. Rookie has put in the time to improve his defensive game and it shows. Does the stats back up this notion? Cause when I'm watching the game he looks way better at it then the beginning of the season. Landry's tooth u implying green still sucks at it? Also do u watch the games or just box score watch?
Just to recap on Jalen, if you look at Kevin Durant as a 19 year old you can see substantial improvement over 4-6 years in playmaking and shooting... The hope would be he can do similar improvements in his game. Worst case he's an elite scorer off the bench for the second unit...
He's still improving and there's reason to be optimistic... he's not seeing all nba defense yet like kobe/jordan... He doesn't have to if he keeps improving to not be a liability.... Not sure where this green worship is coming from.... he's a good young player with flaws to work on... no need to put him in the hall already...
Again, I'm curious as to what parameters you're using to proclaim that Green is closer to Lou than to Kobe. I'm not here to argue because I'm genuinely curious, outside of your own subjective opinion and maybe the ole "eye test", what makes you think that Green, as a 19 year old rookie, is closer to Lou than to Kobe in their respective 18-19 year old rookie seasons.
Are you seriously arguing that, right now, Green is closer to peak Lou Williams than peak Kobe? If so, that's a dumb argument. Factoring in age, Green is much, much closer to 1st/2nd year Kobe than 1st/2nd year Lou Williams.
