?

Ok for theme park to tell kid he was too fat ?

  1. Yes - ride not suitable for people that heavy

  2. No - cultural and weight sensitivity in 2022 reasons, fear of woke backlash

    @Os Trigonum @Jontro @Sweet Lou 4 2

we do live in society where we can’t tell a dude that he’s a dude not a girl
And fat people being fat is ok not unhealthy
So if a kid is way overweight that shouldn’t be on that ride
Should we care about his health or feelings ??

Was he told or not told? Was the carny being woke or incompetent? Next, when they decide to install a failsafe I can see you gripping that Excalibur didn't have an extra safety belt.

    Obviously they didn't .
So he got on and the seat belt and harness couldn't save him.

They should probably do what they've always done, in my experience at least, if you don't meet the recommended/mandated guidelines for the ride (too short, too heavy, too tall, to light etc etc) you can't ride. It's for safety reasons, not for discrimination purposes.

I haven't been to an amusement park in a long time though.

Your video says he was turned away twice on two other rides and there was no secondary seat belt on the one he died from. Was the carny being woke or was there incompetence at play?

His parents should have told him long before the theme park had a chance

So know you think it's funny to yuck it up about a teenager who died a horrible death.

    You really are despicable.

I know and he was turned away twice because he was too big and I'm curious as to why he wasn't on this one. I really doubt the carny let him on because he is a card-carrying wokester and saw an opportunity to let his wokeness shine.

I've been to a couple of these carnivals that travel from small town to small town. .I've even helped out during the setting/cleaning up at a local county fair. I've seen the condition of some of these rides and yeah, I'm going to stay away.

The people working this ride should have stopped him. There should have been a sign saying weight limit

I generally avoid I-Drive and Icon park however I did not realize they were not following the same standards as the major parks. I will not get on those local county fair rides. That is just bad news.

From my understanding, the kid really didnt want to get on the ride and was being pushed by his mother. She should have been concerned as well after being told no on other rides. I haven't seen any of the requirements for this particular ride but I do feel all rides should have a back up safety mechanism. It sounds like there was a failure in the harness that would not have happened if the kid wasnt obese. This is what we call a tragedy. Theme park is liable but its a culmination of a lot of stupid people not using common sense.

I dont know what this wokeness nonsense you all are going on about.

I agree with the other posters that yes size limits should be enforced. If we have signs saying "you must be this tall to ride" I don't see a problem with "You must be under this weight to ride". That's not fat shaming anymore than it is height shaming on the other end.

Even so this case isn't purely about that the kid was too heavy for the ride and there was a technical problem with that seat.

I can't imagine why not, the reputable ones use load bearing cellophane and everything.
