Holding the #1 rank gives us home court for 4 out of the 6 NCAA tournament games. We have got to defend it all year. Sell more tickets. Land higher profile recruits. Like everything it brings to our program including the pressure.
Being ranked #1 doesn’t give UH anything. They could be whatever rank and they still have to make it to the final 4 to even get the chance to play at home. And the final 4 is 2 games not 4
Yes. it does. You get to play in your region if you are #1. The tournament is 6 games. They don't call it the superhighway for nothing.
Nope. there isn’t even a region where houston gets 4 games. At most they would get 2 if they made it to the final 4. The 2023 sites for each round are already set. No idea where you got that idea. It’s not true
It doesn’t matter. The region is meaningless. There’s only 2 games they get in Houston if they get there. There’s no other reality where they get 4 games in Houston.
Playing in our home region is HUGE. We'd get 4 games with OUR fans. No time changes. It's a superhighway to our first championship.
There’s no Texas site other than Houston. I don’t consider that much of a homecourt regardless of south region. And as many Texas teams qualify for the tourney it isn’t exactly homecourt. Houston is the one that matters
He's the big fish. Aimaq solves the one question mark we have. But stiff competition for his service. We'll find out exactly where we stand against the big boyz when this plays out.
LOL, not sure what dude is going on about. Look at the maps, soooooo close to Houston! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_NCAA_Division_I_Men's_Basketball_Tournament
"So far I'd say Maryland, Texas Tech, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Houston have been prioritizing me the most," Aimaq told 247Sports' Inside the Red Raiders March 28. "Those coaching staffs are calling me daily, often multiples times a day."
