No team would take KPJ and the 16th for Duren. If they want KPJ they can just wait a year and sign him.
I am on the Jabari smith train. I think he is the best fit for us. We can ship wood out and bring Smith in. I am not sold on Chet for us. Sengun will get better and grow.
yeah I think most people are pencilling in KPJ and sengun into the cornerstone / untouchable's list and using that as reasons to avoid taking another center (Chet) or guard (ivey) in favor of better fits (banchero/jabari). the only true untouchable right now is Jalen. the only player we should be considering for fit is jalen. and even then, if the best player available was a SG we're in no position to pass. we need talent above all else. I would make this pick as if jalen were the only player on the roster. everyone in the top 4 fits with him, in different ways. that free's us up to take the player we think will be the best in 3-5 years.
okay i watched the chet video. i think we have to draft him now. him bringing the ball up the floor and dunking over everyone is just too hilarious to pass up. the memes would be incredible if this guy is good. i'm officially a holmgren homie even tho i do think banchero has a chance to be the best in this class. real talk tho i'd be happy with any of chet/banchero/ivey/smith . just depends if you think Sengun and/or KPJ are worth building around.
You pass on Chet because he sucks. Absolutely a wasted pick if it is used on him. Toothpicks struggle big time in the NBA.
I was on the fence at first, but after seeing the thread you started last year about taking Green I'm convinced Chet is the right guy.
Rather have Murray. He gives us what we need...at a high level. A 3/4 who can stick it from deep, but also has a post game. A guy that can defend the floor, and handle the ball in transition...extremely versatile.
I see Sengun as a cornerstone, but to your point, you don’t pass on BPA when you are as bad as we are. Sengun or no Sengun, we need size and defense up front. I wouldn’t think twice about taking any of the bigs, or Duren later in the lotto, regardless of Sengun. If we ended up with the #4 pick, and the bigs were gone, Jalen Ivey would be a very nice consolation prize. Of course, we’d have to make some roster adjustments and clear some spots in our backcourt, but having Ivey and Green on your roster is a good problem to have. But it will be interesting if the same guys projected to go 4-7 are the same 6 weeks from now. Seems like a lot of different opinions.
oh **** good thing we didnt draft any toothpick shooting guards last year. they might even average 30ppg to end the season!
