The problem with blanket statements like “avoid all seed oils” is it just leads to confusion as to what to actually eat. And all seed oils are not the problem as generally it’s the dose, and the fact that hydrogenated and cheap oils are founds in highly processed foods. And so avoiding processed foods is the answer? Then we should avoid olive oil which is processed, ground beef or chicken which is processed, Greek yogurt, cheeses, protein powders and many other foods deemed healthy but that undergo a level of processing. And there are documented seed oils that are quite beneficial in our diet but moderation doesn’t grab headlines.
Read the WSJ article I posted. I've never used margerine or Crisco since. Am intrigued about using vegetable oils though. Kerrygold butter & lard is what to use, depending on what you are cooking. Olive oil is good, but does have a low smoke point.
