Also enjoyed the pilot. The special effects are bearable. Curious to see their take on the rest of the show.
Just watched it after watching a bad review. I thought it was good especially since I was going in with low expectations. I forgot about the Halo story Haven't played a HALO game in decades.
That's what I was thinking too. Surprisingly watchable for a video game adaptation. I give it like a 6 or a 7. Watchable for sure. We'll see how it goes.
Critics and these ****ing snobs get things wrong more and more. There seems to be a disconnect amongst these snobs and average viewers. Forgot why the last show they shat on was that got perfect fan reviews I’m not expecting a deep story line from a game about headshotting aliens etc. they could have invested more on the fight scenes etc though maybe next season
I caught the pilot and pretty decent. I've never played the game and know very little of the backstory. Still not enough to get me to sign up for Paramount plus.
when will this hit netflix? i haven't heard of paramount plus. may have to go the black pearl way with this. will they have 9-11 year old kids cursing up a storm in the online play of the series?
Right now, these events are prior to the games. Halo Reach was the first game in the timeline and about the fall of Reach to Covenant forces (which obviously hasn't happened since that is where the UNSC is currently stationed). If they follow the Halo franchise as constructed, it wouldn't be long before the Covenant attack Reach, but there is no telling how much the story will diverge from the games. Chief would not currently know Halo is a weapon in the games (he learns it is a weapon in the 2nd episode). Cortana is the one that figures everything out regarding Halo, and her initial understanding comes from the artifact we saw Chief recover in the Pilot. If I didn't have use for the kids shows, I'd probably wait until the first season was over and then binge watch using a free trial.
I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The fighting scene on Madrigal was kind of cringe at moments.....but to be honest, I came into this expecting a dumpster fire. I'm by no means a Halo fan, never even played a game in the series....but I love scifi stuff. I really enjoyed the Flight back to Reach in episode 1 and how everything unfolded, that got be hooked to try episode 2. (which I also enjoyed).
Just wait until John and Soren have Brokeback Mountain sex while the two female Spartans save the galaxy led by the brilliant leadership of Kwan as she leads the Chinese coalition...errrr, I mean the rebels to a victory over the USA and NATO...errr. I mean UNSC and Covenant forces, with Haley and Paragonsky the only females smart enough to support them as all the men look like Homer Simpson in their decision making. Meanwhile Cortana will declare herself non-binary, despite being literally a series of 1s and 0s in code, leading to a paradoxical moment on whether she would cease to exist but Huffpost will support her and "clap back at all the haters" making her confirm her identity decision.
What? You don't think the future will have women soldiers? Hate to tell ya, there are more women than men. Women will keep increasing their numbers of combat soldiers in the future. By 2550 or whatever, There won't be that much of a distinction. We will be long gone, of course. So, you faux outrage about a fictional show is laughable.
