Chet is scoring/shooting, too. Better shooter than Banchero. Only 3 points/game less than Banchero. the issue is the aggressiveness. 3 ppg less on like 5 shots less per game.
Shooting Is not consistent- neither is his scoring always defers to Timme- Chet can’t score inside unless it’s a lob or quick put back - he won’t post up.
jabari finished the year 2-9, 2-6, 2-6, 2-8. All these guys had periods of inconsistency. Banchero had a tough stretch mid year. He definitely deferred. whether he has that dawg in him is a worthy question for sure. I believe he does based on the way he doesn’t back down from physicality. plus Timme was just good. There was no Timme on Auburn or Duke. even then it seemed like Mark Few failed to go to him enough. Whereas Dukes entire offense at times was iso Banchero - saw it a lot last night to mixed success. It was less that Chet wouldn’t post up as that they never asked him to imo. He had a couple posts in his last game in the second half. Scored no problem. Well it might have been less post ups and more offensive rebounds out into the paint or broken plays which ended with him in a post up. This timid’ was was a concern of mine about Mobley last year. I think Chet the much higher potential offensive player if he wants it. Conversely Suggs was aggressive offensively and is the worst of what the top 7 picks at least.
A Houston loss and a Magic win, and I feel pretty good about things. The Knicks never help when they can though. Probably losses for both teams IMO.
No Franz Wagner for tonight's game. That kinda sucks. No Cade or Bagley (among others) for the Pistons, but Bey is trying to go for 80 in that one, it seems.
Silas using challenges early is the only tanking we see the Rockets employ. Detroit is now sitting rookies and pulling their best players to close games with their worst 5. They were the last besides us not resulting to blatant tanking. Orlando has been employing the same worst 5 strategy, OKC and Portland are just picking up dudes at the Y. Rockets come out of this looking very good. These losses are much better than what we saw earlier this season. This is exactly what I wanted to see.
Magic went HAM They aren’t going to win again, here’s to hoping for Rocket Ls and a lucky coin flip/lottery
So how does it work if HOU/ORL are tied with the worst record? Since they tied 1-1 in regular season, it'll be coin flip or some other tiebreakers?
Random drawing decides who picks first between teams with same record Tied lottery teams split their ping pong balls evenly, and any odd remainder and the better draft order position are given to the random drawing winner https://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds
MIN vs. HOU - Loss, good for us. ORL vs. NYK - Loss for Magic, sucks for us. DET vs. IND - Win for DET, good for us. OKC vs PHX - Win for OKC, good for us. CLE vs PHI - PHI for the win, not good for us. MIA vs TOR - 98-94 MIA with less than 4 min left, not good for us. DEN vs LAL - DEN win, love when the shitty Fakers lose. So 4 out 7 ain't bad for today.
