Somehow the right has formulated this false narrative that the left and forces of wokeness are trying to teach kids about gay sex and that they should do it too. But they cast it as, "The left is trying to make 5 year olds learn about sex" when in reality this bill is about preventing teachers from evening saying, "I'm man married to a man" without risking their job. What if their spouse shows up to work - are they allowed to call each other, honey?"

@tinman Do you think that a gay teacher has to hide their lives from kids? When a gay teacher is at the supermarket, and a kid sees them, with their gay spouse, and asks them the next day at school, what should the gay teacher say? "Don't worry that was just my secret friend?"

 

It might sound cynical, but there were plenty of God Loving Christians who owned slaves, beat slaves, hung blacks, and treated them like animals not worthy of even dining in their establishment. Even soldiers fighting for our country were spit on or told to ride in the back of the bus in full uniform.

There are also plenty of God loving Christians that have protested at funerals of some gay kid that died from a hate crime with signs saying "Gays go to hell", "God hates Gays" and similar stuff.

 

Good news for you dude. Whatever decision Disney makes just be comforted knowing it's a decision based on maximizing return on investment.

I have zero social media and don’t know of any academic paper. In the last 6 months I’ve seen 1 person get assaulted and a dozen more arguments break out because a “pronoun” or proper term wasn’t used. I’ve also personally found the individuals that are the most prejudiced are the folks doing the virtue signaling on the far left. I agree that the far right has neo nazi white supremacist groups and not saying they’re better but the former tend to get a huge pass for “we stand with minorities!!”


Anecdotes I know, but on a focal level of my day to day experiences this is how I feel.
