Missed two years of high school…. Injured this year and also the age of most high school seniors… in a perfect world he comes back and leads Duke next year but I think he goes top 7 because of his skill level… he has been very up and down this season.

Sounds like a Bol Bol situation where he'd benefit from staying his sophomore year, but he'd go high enough this year that he'll take his chances.

I’m definitely more confident in Griffin. I think he is the far better prospect but because of his age and role at Duke, there is more projection required with him.

The question with him is can he create? He can shoot and he can defend when he wants to.

I like him long term but ideally he would go back to Duke and run their team… but someone sitting 5-10 will take him.

I wouldn’t risk that high of a pick on him as of today. He has a ways to go to being worthy of a pick that high. Right now he looks Like a extremely limited spots minutes at best player

he’s fine offensively, but his defense has been suspect all year…that’s my main issue with him

It is worrying that so many people are criticizing his motor especially on defense. I also read he basically needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective. So mean question: doesn’t that kinda sound like Christian Wood? Why do we feel he may be better for us?

I bet you can get some really good odds on UConn right now. If they pull it off, you could get filthy rich.

Yeah I'm backing off of Griffin at # 5-ish and moving him back to around
    # 9-ish. Rather have Keegan Murray or Mathurin.

It's a weak draft. Far weaker than the past 3-4 years. None of these dudes go top 5 last year(maybe Chet does!). I'm always confused when people want to move up to pick a guy like Murray with our 2nd smh.

Ivey should have those same criticisms and more but for some reason no one mentions it.

As a Rockets fan knowing who we have in our corner, I cannot think of a player recently whose come along than Banchero that would benefit more from Olajuwon training. He can be a lead/secondary/tertiary playmaker. Banchero carried that Duke teams at times and was their best player throughout the tourney. His conditioning is his biggest weakness. That will help his motor.

which is exactly Stone ended up not trading EG/Wood at the deadline.

He was offered first round pick for EG, but for THIS year. They already have 2 to add to their young guys this year. Why take another first this year in a weak draft? As opposed to packing it up with maybe your Nets pick to move up IF you really think there’s one dude worth it… Or trading then this offseason and gettting future first which will still probably be late first but COULD, aka Nets pick have some randomness happen and at least will be a late pick in a deeper draft (much deeper if it’s a high schoolers allowed year).

I’m coming around to this way of thinking too. He seems very much like a rich man’s Christian Wood. He is much younger of course and we likely improve, but then again maybe he won’t. Still a nice player, I just wish his defense was better right now.

Griffin is not very good….not sure I would want him at #16, but think he’ll be available.

Weakest draft in years….no clear cut #1. Jabrari Smith maybe, but he didn’t impress in the Tournament.

A rich man's Christian Wood is an All-Star level talent. CWood was in the running for the ASG last year before his ankle injury. Hopefully the bad CWood-like habits can be coached out of him in his rookie season if we take him though.

Great team game from NC. Paolo could have been more impactful in a 4 point game. He missed some easy stuff around the basket and could have influenced more shots on D. Duke tried to play team ball late and it backfired with support players having tough games like AJ and Roach. I thought Williams was subpar compared to his other tourney games. P5 should be firmly cemented in that top 3 range.

I’m intrigued by what he can do for a person his size, but this is why Banchero scares me. Mo Taylor was a big that played like a guard and I hated that. Hopefully Paolo is a better version. Bigger and better passer and hopefully grabs rebounds.
