All you need is internet access. You won’t have to pay for Apple TV. The games will be streamed free.

So all we have to do is pay Siri $35M and we're a better team since payroll is what determines what makes us a better team. Did I get that right? NYY is a better team because they picked up all of Donaldson's Contract from the Twins. Right? Astros are going nowhere by trying to pay players what they are worth instead of what they think they are worth or what they used to be worth.

You have to have Apple TV+. The only way to get Apple TV+ is with a subscription. Subscriptions are $4.99/month or it can be bundled with other Apple services at various prices. One can get a free 7 day trial. One can also get a number of months free by purchasing various Apple products.

If I am incorrect, please post the steps involved in getting Apple TV+ at no cost, because I don't know how to do it. Thanks.

It is important to note that Apple TV and Apple TV+ are 2 different things.

Siri might also hit .200... in a pinch they can do Tuck in CF...

Upton could come in handy to give Brantley a night off too...

Congratulations to Rosscup, Morgan, or Blanco -- I hope it's Blanco as reports on him from this spring have made me intrigued, especially if the Astros are willing to make a 40 man move to get him on to the opening day roster.

And apparently, it's Blanco after all. Excited about this. I think he's one of the Astros' "special new cutter" projects like Luis Garcia.

I wonder what the move is. Looking at the 40 man — a few candidates:
    — I believe they could move McCullers or Jake Myers to the 60 day DL. Whitley too, I suppose
    — Enoli Paredes didn’t seem to get much buzz after a pretty poor 2021. I wonder where he sits
    — Seth Martinez and Jonathan Bermudez feel like they’re on the fringes at the moment, but we’ll see
    — Taylor Jones as a backup 1B only battling performance and injuries probably has him on thin ice.

Dubin, Ivey, Bielak seem like strong depth candidates for the season, so I think they’re safe. Josh James and Whitley likely get one last shot.

I think most likely is they put Lance on the 60 day to get Blanco on the 40 man. One other oddity is that we only have 2 catchers on the 40 man — if Castro or Machete get hurt, they’ll need to make a move to add one — presumably Papierski or Korey Lee.

Bound to be moving someone to the 60 day to make room for Blanco. McCullers, Meyers, and Jones are the candidates.

So the 10 man opening day bullpen appears set:
2 elite relievers in Pressly and Neris
2 guys who’ve been productive in the past who have potential to be elite in Maton and Javier
2 high upside young velocity arms who’ve been inconsistent in Taylor and Abreu
2 veteran arms with high leverage experience who project as pretty middling in Stanek and Montero
2 complete unknowns in Baez and Blanco

I would not be surprised at all if Siri hit .200. Have you looked to see what Upton has done his last 3 years? But, once again, Siri is on the roster because he plays CF, Upton does not. There is absolutely no way they will carry both on the roster, there are just not enough spots. As far as Tucker in CF - I think the Astros front office and management staff has made it pretty clear that they will not be playing Tucker there

He also hit 155 OPS+ in 49 PA last year. Small sample size, but a CF who can hit. But does he push McCormick to the bench?

Padres got Manaea for their #12 and #26 prospects. Id compared that return to Houston giving up Cristian Gonzalez and Jonathan Bermudez. Good deal for San Diego imho.

    LOL

What has Click done since he's been here to improve on what Luhnow left him?

Click inherited a near-empty farm, a near-maxed payroll, and an aging roster projected to increase in cost. He has improved the farm (considering the lost draft picks) with adds like Pedro Leon and deserves at least partial credit for the development of guys like Jeremy Pena, Korey Lee, and Hunter Brown. He has avoided significant bad contracts. He has made some very good signings in Gurriel and Brantley. He executed a trade deadline last season that got the team to the World Series.

The goal for a GM taking over a contending team isn’t necessarily to “improve”, it’s to manage the resource so that the team is in position to continue to contend well into the future.

    Define not any bad contract.
    Baez is bad.
    Looks like montero is bad.
I see about 80 million in money I’d rather not be spending or free money up to the cap.

Are you basing Montero being a bad contract because of his 1st spring appearance not going great?

I think this is the 197th iteration of this comment from you. We all know you think Click sucks because he gave 4th/5th tier free agent deals to Odo and Baez. You missed where I said “significant”. Montero is making $2.75M on an arb deal; there’s no such thing as a significantly bad $2.75M/1yr contract.

Odo projects to be worth ~$7M, his AAV is $8.25. Baez projects to be worth ~$700k, his AAV is $6.3M. Montero projects to be worth ~$1M for his $2.75M deal. Even if you buy those very fickle RP projections it puts the 3 worst contracts in the org as paying $17.3M for ~$9M worth of value. So a TOTAL of ~$8M in lost value for 2022. Gurriel’s contract will make up more than that in surplus value on its own.

There’s a valid argument that Click hasn’t been aggressive enough, but the argument that Click has hamstrung the org with bad free agent contracts is totally stupid.
