How does this work if Brooklyn wins and gets out of play in?

    Does our pick get worse?

    I believe it becomes a non-lottery pick.

So in theory If they win it all. All that cheering would have been pointless since it would b pick 32?

Only good thing I guess is play in is pretty rough. All it takes is one game to end a season.

    ??

    Pick 32?

all the play-in is doing is determining who finishes 7-10th in their conference

No. I think it becomes non-lottery based on regular season records.

Oh I thought draft works depends on where u placed in playoffs. Like If Nets win it all (not gonna happen) the pick becomes 32, no?

I don’t think so. I think record plays in with that?

nah, draft position is based on team standings at the end of the regular season…it’s just a little bit different now because the play-in could have the 10th seed in the conference end up as the 8th seed based on how the play-in games go…basically the 7th-10th place teams in each conference don’t have their draft position set until after the play-in games

If a 9th or 10th seeded team manages to win both of its games in the tournament it will no longer participate in the NBA Draft Lottery. Similarly, to sneak into the Draft Lotery, a 7th or 8th seeded team will need to lose both of its games in the tournament.

What if the 9th or 10th seeded teams win exactly one game? In that case, the team is still lottery-bound and its lottery odds are in a sense unaffected and are still calculated based on its regular season (82 game) winning percentage.

Similar logic applies, say, to a 7th seeded team that dropped to 8th after the play-in tournament: the picks it owns in the Draft (in the range 15-60) will still be ordered according to the regular-season record.

Tough call. Orlando probably loses out and that'd give them the worst record. I'd be ok with 2nd worse though if it means Nets have to play two road play in games to get to the 8th seed.

I feel like having to win 2 play in games then playing a rested 1st seed is such a huge disadvantage. Durant had his career high in points tonight but i have been watching him he is really showing his age here and there these days. The Nets are going to really be stuck in a few years in my opinion.

If the 10th seed beat the Nets then get eliminated right after in the second play in game. Nets pick is better regardless of overall record?

Or is it still overall standing? From what I read, sounds like regular season overall record.
