All these comparisons to Duncan, KG or even Bosh were lofty expectations because all 3 were at one point 1st option shot creators on offense on playoff teams. I think Mobley is pretty far from that on offense and might never get there. You can't really be a generational basketball player without heavy shot creation. If you look at the MVP level big men today, embiid, Jokic, Giannis, AD, all are able to score 30+ points every single game.
Last season was easier since the Rockets were a blank slate, in need of everything. I like the top 4 mentioned. Jabari/Chet/Ivey/Banchero. I put more stock in Jabari/Chet as #1 Ivey #3: Jalen/Jaden combo guarding it with Porter playing like he did this last game, (Green 30 pts/Porter 30 pts) playing SF. #4 Banchero. Can't teach height and he can shoot some. I suggesting the Rockets play more zone defense to cover up defensive flaws of guarding quicker players on the perimeter. Helps not only Sengun/Garuba, but also new addition of either Jabari or Chet or Banchero. So I'm hoping for top 4 pick and not stressing. Kicking up my feet and accepting any of those Top 4 come our way.
@Rockets4Life13 Not sure if it's really that these kids are more advanced or teams are specializing the development better....with better Developmental Specialists? Franz Wagner was rated #16....I watched him and had him at around #10.....then I saw him in his conference tournament and March Madness and saw an ugly jump shot that came from his pectoral region, kinda a slow release.....I dropped him to near #20. I watched highlights of him recently and he has changed his jump shot. Either he got with a shooting coach or the Orlando staff has worked with him? Higher release and faster. --------------- I feel Jabari can improve his footwork on the perimeter defensively and tighten up his ball handling. Chet can improve the same as Jabari. Banchero the same and become more proficient a shooter rebounder. I've seen so much improvement in Tate, Kenyon, Josh Christopher and Green. Bring us anyone.... Keegan, Mathurin, AJ Griffin. Lol.
I think he'll be a lesser Bam Adebayo, but I won't be surprised if he reaches that level.... I don't know if that's amazing for a 3rd overall pick either, but it would still be a damn good player... Maybe 3rd best player on a contender potentially.
I have not paid much attention just yet. I've done the same last year - i only started getting into it after we secured the pick. Right now Chet is my #1. But as i said, I have not watched much yet. I don't think I'll feel the same way like I did last year. I wanted Green and I wanted him badly. Right now I don't feel about any of them in that way.
I understand, my preference is still pending individual workouts, combine and late breaking news: arrests, rape accusations....murder charges I don't believe Jabari has declared yet
Don't want to get ahead of myself but there's a chance this kid could be even *better* than Corey Brewer...
Yeah, I'd like to see Jalen average 27.8 FGA's like Michael Jordan in his third season. Would Jalen average 37.1 points a game as the GOAT did?
