They might and I haven't seen the clearance rates from several years ago versus now.

Investigations have changed how they conduct things but the social media has also changed the nature of crime too.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tr...structing-congress-us-judge-rules-2022-03-28/

WASHINGTON, March 28 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge ruled on Monday that former President Donald Trump “more likely than not” committed a felony by attempting to obstruct Congress when he tried to subvert the 2020 election on Jan. 6, 2021.

U.S. District Judge David Carter in Los Angeles said in his ruling that the U.S. congressional committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters could obtain emails written by Trump lawyer John Eastman.

“Based on the evidence, the Court finds it more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021,” Carter said in a written decision.

Related in that it's normal for Trump to obstruct justice. Remember what Muller said in his Congressional testimony.

Q: You believe that you could charge the president of the US with obstruction of justice after he left office?
    Muller: "Yes"

There was an 18 minute gap in nixon's telephone recording records and that factored into Watergate prosecution. And now there is an EIGHT HOUR gap in the records trump submitted for January 6...

Nixon left office because many Congressional Republicans were willing to take action on what he did and not just blindly defend him or look away. The GOP now isn't the same party as it was then.

According to an article I read, the self proclaimed smartest man in the world didn't know what a burner phone is.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-...y-6/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=158586515#app

In a statement Monday night, Trump said, "I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term."

The judge who examined the documents to decide if they should be released to the 1/6 committee or kept private (10 were deemed covered by attorney-client privilege and 101 must be disclosed):

Trump "launched a campaign to overturn a democratic election, an action unprecedented in American history”

“Their campaign was.. a coup in search of a legal theory"

"If the plan had worked, it would have permanently ended the peaceful transition of power, undermining American democracy and the Constitution. If the country does not commit to investigating and pursuing accountability for those responsible, the Court fears January 6 will repeat itself.”

The vast majority of today GOP has zero respect for American democracy and the Constitution.

Like a bad poker player with an easy tell, Trump's lies have an easy tell. When he said he has no idea of something so simple and gives himself an out with poor remembrance, he's likely lying. He likely used a burner phone for that 7 hours.

    when he's talking, he's lying.

Like my grandpa use to say.... That man would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth.
