It's from his talk in the link below. Sounds like he cares about the Court. If true, he needs to fully explain his lone dissent that was a clear conflict of interest and at min, recuse himself from all cases involving 1/6 or his wife. I doubt he cares enough though. Justice Clarence Thomas: The Supreme Court might be compromised someday - Deseret News "At some point, the institutions are going to be compromised" “That’s no court at all. That’s no rule of law at all. That’s just willfulness,” he said “I don’t see how that is conducive to having a free and civil society.” “My fear isn’t for me. But it is for your kids and your grandkids and the next generation. What are we going to leave them? Are we leaving them a mess or are we leaving them a country? Are we leaving them chaos or are we going to leave them a court?”
the willful ignorance of Stupidmoniker Clarence Thomas’s Twenty+ Years Without Footprints What’s the most important opinion Thomas has written for the majority during his tenure on the Court? none, as Neither Chief Justice William Rehnquist, who presided over Thomas’s first fourteen years on the Court, nor Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., who has run the court for the past eleven, ever assigned Thomas a landmark opinion for the Court. The truth is that Rehnquist and Roberts never trusted Thomas to write an opinion in a big case that could command a majority of even his conservative colleagues. After years at the periphery of the Court, in the wake of the current controversy surrounding his wife and the 6 Jan insurrection, the lazy Clarence Thomas looks destined to serve out his term at the even more distant fringe.

And not only does he know their names, he remembers their families’ names and histories,” she said. “He’s the first one who will go up to someone when you’re walking with him and say, ‘Is your son okay? How’s your daughter doing in college?’ He’s the first one that, when my stepfather died, sent me flowers in Florida,” she added. more at the link

LOL if anything the tea party and originalism starts with Scalia who...while not my favorite...was principled and a qualified jurist who backed up his opinions. Unlike Clarence who wants to help his wife usher in a theocracy. Y'all want small governmenr until you get the qbility to insert your morality in others lives. Then all of the sudden limited govt goes out the window.
