Silas has no incentive to tank unless he's already been told he's coming back next season, which I sincerely doubt has happened. This is on Rafael Stone to take Silas aside, and basically tell him he has to play the rookies. It's a simple thing, but it takes guts and courage to have that conversation....not just with Silas, but with the players who are being affected as well. But if you're incapable of having those conversations, then you have no business being a GM.
This is the deal. The young Rockets players have improved. Improved to the point that they can win games against the bottom half of the league. Not playing the vets may not help us lose games. The young guys are starting to take over. Sengun, Christopher, Green, KJM, are helping us win games not lose games. Next year will not be a tanking year because our players will be too good to tank. It’s already happening.
I rather take the risk of watching the future play and win than seeing washed up veterans who will soon be shopping for a ring.
I hope the damage is not done already and that somehow we blow every remaining game while OKC/Det/Orl all manage to win at least 2 more games.
Don't really have to panic too much. We beat what was literally the worst rotation in the entire NBA. Some of those dudes are only on the team cause of nepotism. I'm sure we'll be back to losing from here on.
Honestly, I’m not sure they’re going to win another game. Spoiler @ Blazers Hawks Pistons Suns Blazers @ Jazz @ Lakers @ Clippers Josh Giddey - Tre Mann - Theo Maledon - Ty Jerome Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - Aaron Wiggins - Lindy Waters III - Vit Krejci Luguentz Dort - Kenrich Williams Darius Bazley - Aleksej Pokusevski - Isaiah Roby Jeremiah Robinson-Earl - Derrick Favors - Mike Muscala - Olivier Sarr
This. Plus the other tanking teams have had injuries to their best player(s) and vets. Looks like Wood, Gordon, and Schroder are questionable with soft tissue injuries. Maybe they are shutting them down now.
Can’t wait to see the vets play 30+ minutes while the other teams at the bottom tank for their lives.
Even OKC can't out tank that Portland team ..... they couldn't beat half the teams at Fonde much less a G League team. OKC takes both.
Unfortunately the Magic decided most of their starters were too good to close out the game and risk the win.
