Astros just got cash for Norel. Biggest takeaway from this is the additional evidence that the Astros farm continues to be such that their castoffs get opportunities with other teams.

Those are just notes that the MLB prospect writers have gathered. So they are from multiple different sources and could be BS. I will say that I have personally seen Dubin and Solomon hit those numbers on guns that did not seem hot. And I have seen Brown hit 96 on a night where it didn’t seem he had his best velocity.

Surprised they are still carrying Jojance Torres, Kessinger, and Barefoot. They also ignored Berryhill and Tamarez.

One other interesting note from the top 30 is that Cristian Gonzalez is 6’6”. That’s huge. So he will be one to watch, as if he lost any quickness and doesn’t take a huge step forward in his offensive profile he is busted. But if he does take a big step then his ceiling as a 3B would be extremely high.

Forgive me, but was that his normal wind up or was he pitching from the stretch? Quick to the plate if normal delivery. Might have to work on a pause to keep from getting balk calls.

Sometimes it's obvious, some times it's not and some pitchers just abandoned a windup. I'm not sure exactly what makes it a STRETCH.

A preview of some of the players expected to play for Fayetteville. Who knows how much inside info they actually have but if it’s not just speculation there’s some encouraging notes in there, namely that Whitaker and Lorenzo will both see time in full season ball soon. Both of those guys but especially Whitaker has huge breakout potential if he has a good season across Fayetteville and Asheville this year.

I don’t expect much from Loperfido but it is notable that he gained 20 pounds as power was his weakness.

Looks like there was another round of releases on Friday. Sean Mendoza, Jesus Liranzo, Tomas Ramirez, and Yorbin Cueta are the ones I've seen so far. Cueta was a big bonus international signee a few years ago, and had good contact skills but no power.

$1 million for Yorbin Ceuta, who ended up playing in a total of 9 games (out of 163) outside of the complex leagues during his career.

AAA season starts tomorrow so I would assume they’ll release the minor league rosters this afternoon.

Radio broadcast said that Franny Cobos apparently throws a knuckleball.

Franny Cobos sounds like a knuckleballer name.

I hope so. It gives me something to do for the next two days other than upset sensitive posters..

I was going to say if a guy named Franny Cobos didn't throw a knuckleball, I'd be kind of disappointed. Hopefully he tosses an eephus pitch or two into his arsenal.
