There were lots of jokes Rock could have gone too, but at least he didn't look like a b****. Had Smith slapped most presenters, they would have gone to the ground and Rock didn't. Rock did sound a little meek when he said he would stop talking about Jada.

I also will say this, if Chris Rock wasn't small, I don't think that Smith would have hit him. Do you think that Smith would have hit Dwayne Johnson? Jason Momoa? Armie Hammer? The guy that played Wolverine? Hell no.

I don't care.... that woman is hot as hell because she doesn't give a **** .

She has bigger balls that he does.... she has her legs spread out and relaxed, and he has his legs crossed..... she knows what she wants and she gets it.

We don't even have to go that far on the big actor scale...we all know if that was Dave Chappelle up there making that joke Smith would have just kept his seat and tried to rationalize to Jada how funny the joke was. He clearly saw Rock as an easy target and executed.

According to TMZ, the two haven't spoken at all which is not surprising since this was a b**** move by Smith. Smith looks like an ignorant *******. It's common knowledge that he and Jada have an "open marriage" so spare me his fake display of outrage. Also didn't we hear about her and some other dude for most of last year? Where was all of this " being protective of my family" then?

You can be sure now that a lot of people are going to think the right reaction to being insulted is violence.

Make a joke about my wife's disease? Don't care if you knew about it or not, time for violence
Make a joke about my mama? Violence
Make a joke about my religion with a cartoon? Violence

Don't you think accepting the actions of Will Smith sorta says that Muslims who get violent when you insult their god - well, it's understandable then?

I don’t think he looked like a b**** and I’m pretty sure Will wouldn’t have smacked anyone whiter than Chris Rock. I’m just saying that some karate chopping would have been comedy gold.

Part of the problem is King Will and Queen Jada thinking the world revolves around them. Why does Will look at himself as the leader of his people? He's just an actor. He's not Moses. TMZ also says that a source said Rock had no idea Jada had Alopecia. But, for whatever reason, everyone assumes or wants to think Chris knew and he was intentionally being a total a-hole with his joke. Oh...but it's common knowledge.

Libras are full of themselves. Will Smith and Scottie Pippen are two good examples of this.

I agree with your premise.... although I suppose where is the stopping point? Smith slapped him, he didn't beat him up or kill him.

I said what I said tongue in cheek, I don't think Smith should have hit him, especially not in front of a crowd.

I will say though that there have been a handful of times in my life where I believed violence was the proper response and I still think it is a proper response.

I think it is a mistake to team a young man (or woman) that violence is never the proper response.... but I do think that we need to teach them that they are responsible for the consequences of that violence.

I remember for example being in my early 30 and having not been in Chicago very long. In my business I had someone come to me and try to shake me down for money and claimed they were in the mafia. I gave them $250 because it was easier than fearing them hurting my family. I found out that he did it to other people and later he asked for more money and I refused politely. He then came to my house door and my wife answered and he was nasty to her and asked where I was. He came to my office, asked for money. I went to the parking lot and snapped and bashed his head in and almost ran over his head before he ran off. He never asked me for money again and while I was scared for about 3 months that he would do something, he never did.

So in that case violence was the proper response. I also beat up a man that claimed he was female and went into the gym changing room where my nieces were changing. He had a duffle bag and thought it was funny. It was an Lifetime Fitness. They told him he wasn't presenting as a woman and he could not go in, he got nasty and I grabbed him and popped him. The police did come and he was told he would be arrested if he tried to enter the gym again.

So sometimes it is necessary, and we all make that decision and society judges us accordingly.

The ultimate win would have been if Smith walked up there and fake slapped him. Then, Smith says something off the cuff like "man, don't be joking 'bout my wife or you're in for a world of hurt" or "joke about me all you want but leave my wife out of it or else". And, then it would have been nothing and a nice conclusion with Smith making his point and Rock responding with something like "i didn't mean it as disrespect. she's got the look of a badass marine. all i'm saying".

It could have been a nice moment. Instead, all I see in my head is a guy who has anger management issues.

No, you flip the coin. What did you bet on? Don't tell me. Tell the coin. Not out loud. Call it! Don't 'what' me! Call it! What? Say 'what' one more time and see what happens. Call it! Flips coin. You won. You want to know what you won. You know because you made the silent bet. Don't put the coin in your pocket! I don't know where you put it but not in your pocket. It's a special coin. Exits
