If the Academy were smart, then they would bring in both Ricky Gervais and Chris Rock as hosts next year. And, lay down an ice floor up to the podium for when they do their opening monologue jokes directed at the actors. If they can make it to them at the podium, then they can slap the offending host. That, folks, is how you get ratings. A new awards show reality show format.
Man, I have kind of had enough of Will and his family; with his memoirs coming out and saying he had so much sex with women that he can't orgasm without throwing up, putting his kids in movies and into Scientology, the whole entanglement with his wife and himself and their open relationship that she probably forced on him. Like I get he's been emotionally abused but to do what he did yesterday really screwed so many people over and that speech was so weird too

I saw about 15 minutes of the show. I tuned in just as they started the “In Memoriam” montage. Did the music seem a little too upbeat. I guess it’s supposed to be a celebration of the lives of people lost over the past year. But, that was some pretty happy singing and dancing. I think maybe the singing and dancing was a bit distracting as they showed the pictures of the departed in the background. It was just a little different.
I wonder if his material is going to address what went down. This may just be the beginning. I mean...he already took the hit so...might as well.
Not addressing this during his tour would be criminal and I would request ticket refunds. He MUST address it, and I hope he adds fuel to the fire.
I really wanted him to say "Hey, you got the wrong guy, I'm not August." or something along those lines sooooo bad. Still, taking the high road is admirable. But it would have been pure comedy gold and forever enshrined in comedy history.

True or False Black people have already moved on from the incident. It happened and the gauntlet was thrown down. No big whoop. The End. Everyone else, primarily white people, are going to drag this out for a good while as they come to terms with it primarily because of the shock factor. There may even be congressional hearings on it led by Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, and Lindsay Graham...questioning Academy higher-ups and the FCC.
