The other teams are in full tank mode. We should be doing the same thing. Use Green’s fall last night as an excuse to sit him the rest of the year. Schroeder, Gordon, and Wood should not spend another minute on the floor. Well, maybe Wood, because Sengun for 35 mins might get you a win or two. What exactly are you wanting the Rockets to do? Sit Green, Wood and Porter even though they are not injured? Not play 100%? Throw games?
Count me amongst the people who believe the lottery is rigged, and that the NBA frowns upon people who overtly flaunt the tanking path in the last couple months of the season. This applied to OKC last year and Orlando the past five years. Exceptions--including Philly during the Process, Cleveland post-Lebron pt 1, and OKC after the Seattle move--happened 1.) when lottery odds were less even and it was much more suspect when low odds teams won it; and 2.) under extenuating circumstances where the NBA had a vested interest in pumping up those particular fanbases. Last year Detroit and Houston were clearly the two franchises most in need of a pick me up. This year there really isn't any franchise with zero hope, short of those mediocrity treadmill teams like SAC, WAS, IND who will never go full tank out of stupidity. The NBA is at its peak popularity when Houston is there as a foil for the other major fanbases to hate. That's why I have a feeling the NBA will give us a top 2 pick, but only if we draft Chet. I can envision a decade of early playoff exits after Chet shows out in the regular season, only for tiny guards to run straight at him over and over, falling down and fouling him out in the playoffs. ****ing Yao PTSD man. Count me in as those that think we WERE tanking idk why we are playing to win NOW i would have been OK with 25 wins if we got them naturally over the course of the season against teams that weer trying . A W vs a tanking portland team means nothing . its not a win you can build off of
OKC plays this same crappy blazers team twice. They also play Detroit once. We probably won’t be guaranteed a top 5 pick but we will end up a bottom 3 team with max lottery odds
it was clearly rigged a few years back when fakers needed to acquire AD whether it's rigged every year is hard to assess but the fact that it's all done behind closed doors (and then presented w/ some fake ass auditor's blessing lol) means there likely is a lotta fcukery going on every time
If the team u are playing decides to trot out all of their worst players, we should modify our lineup accordingly. That’s essentially what Portland did these last few games, but I guess we needed to build our self esteem by teeing off against a lineup that wouldn’t even hack it in the G league.
