We have these games from time to time but of course this was the worst possible moment to have a horrid shooting game. It doesn't take away from this was a great season still and with what they were dealt with mid season there is no reason to be ashamed. I am ready for next season already. Go Coogs !!
Hell yeah!! Stros have had many hella years too recently (and prior) Final outcome....zero (respected) championships in city history Props to the Coogs though, they're building something great (maybe). They're the most likely potential champ candidate for Houston out of all teams who reside
credit to nova they are a great team but this was all on us not hitting shots of any kind. the baylor game was just a better team beating up on a lesser team but this was just missed open look after open look. like at no point did it feel like we didnt belong with them. so ****ing frustrating, man. regardless, great season and i got nothing negative to say about the guys just not our day
Really feel for Kyler Edwards. We go nowhere without him and he just had an all time terrible performance. Poor kid.
How do you get to the Elite 8 and come out with an offensive gameplan that basically equals "Let your worst offensive player drive to the paint and throw the ball wildly at the backboard 20 times"? And for the 309458129847859th time... Kelvin, sweetheart, stop the covered hoop rebound drills 15 minutes early and have everyone practice bending their knees at the free throw line. You'll win more games.
1 for 20 from 3 not going to win many games. Hate that Fab, Edwards, Carlton and Taze had to end their careers at UH this way. Defense was tremendous but we picked a bad time to suck on offense. That should be us out there cutting down the nets and going to the final four.
Yes. Many people did. Coogs are the gang that can't shoot straight. They make it up for it with defense, pts off turnovers and 2nd chance points. Villanova is an extremely sound team fundamentals wise. We had one short stretch where our defense sped them up and forced mistakes. Unfortunately Wright took a well timed time out to settle them down. Still a great season for UH and they have their best recruiting class in a really long time coming in. If the can get a little help from the transfer portal then they could be special next season.
Jay Wright and Nova are easily the best coach/program I can recall in my lifetime that seemingly go completely under the radar.
Whats important to remember is that regardless if nova wins the natty or not, they will never have as many golf national championships as us! and truthfully thats whats important suck on that, b****es
Best analogy I heard from a friend tonight (since you love baseball): That was the basketball equivalent of throwing a 2-hitter, but leaving 16 RISP and losing 1-0
Man, 1-20 is actually worse than the 25 straight (not including Scott Foster waving off a made And 1 in the 3rd) 2018 WCF game 7 (7-44). Good team though - its great to see UH as a powerhouse again.
Many legitimate ways to lose. Going 1/20 from three, 17/57 overall, and still only lose by six? Better than feeling cheated by officiating, but doesn’t feel like they gave them their best. The effort was there, just not the shooting. Credit to Villanova’s defense, but many of those shots were wide open. Then knowing Sasser and Mark are on the bench brings out the what-if goblins. I’d actually prefer a loss like last year’s against Baylor, where you know the better team won. This game feels like one of those single-elimination tournament bummers that could’ve been different on any other day. Like when your grandma plays Plinko on Price is Right.
Pretty much spot on. I don't mind losing. It's the way we lost. An imminently winnable game flushed down the shitter.
Jay Wright always has tough, smart squads, especially at the PG position. There's something about Villanova PGs, from Kyle Lowry on. They use the entire shot clock and score or get fouled (and make every damn FT!) so often, it's molar-cracking frustrating.
