Who’s the best price point in the draft? If we took a big with our first pick is there one at 16 or one we’d be able to package that pick to move up and grab?
I criticize Patrick Fertitta on guard centric team but many teams are going that route. Dame / McCollum dueling banjos that are more dynamic and eventually better defenders would be good. Player..........FT%.....Ast.....Ast%....TOV%....TS% J Green........80.0%....2.7.....13.4%....12.4......52.8 (21/22) Porter jr........59.6%...5.9......29.8%....19.0......51.1 (21/22) Ivey (21/22)..74.4%...3.1......19.4%....14.3......58.3 __________________________________ Dame (career)..89.3%...6.6....30.6%....11.7.....58.3 McCollum (career)..81.5%..3.5...18.4%...9.7...55.3 So Ivey numbers are college this season.....not pro stats. Porter jr has a good Ast% but I fear that's from holding the ball too long. Next season may be more of everyone passing quickly and moving the ball rapidly....faster pace. Share the wealth....attack, attack, attack. Game really isn't that hard....players attacking, 3-pt shooting threats.... kick outs....move the ball......score a lot. Surround Green-Ivey with 3-pt shooters and the wins will come. So if the Rockets lose out on Chet/Jabari; I wouldn't mind Ivey plus moving up to get Keegan Murray. *side note : Dame/McCollum didn't work because they didn't like to play defense and their front court was always sub par poor shooters. If Porter Jr can distribute and attack like this last game vs Mavs....playing him at SF could be an option. The poor FT% needs to get fixed.
Not a great draft for point guards. Even the best point guards in this draft are not really playing the point right now. I would say Jean Montero or Ty Ty Washington.
Ivey isn't a good shooter and he's not a point guard, so no, I don't think that an Ivey Green backcourt it feasible. If they draft Ivey, KPJ will slide to the 3 and still need to run the point.
I doubt it but if Ivey is the clear BPA you’d have to take him. If I could have a dream scenario/trade assuming we get the #1 pick I’d package that with whatever else aside from Green/Sengun and see if there’s any chance at all in landing DJM. ****ing love his game and he’d be the perfect PG to pair with Green. Rockets fans will prob over value the #1 pick and Spurs prob view him as close to as untouchable as possible but I’m making that call. Twice to make sure. https://airalamo.com/posts/should-dejounte-murray-be-off-san-antonio-spurs-trade-block/amp 25 years old one of the best 2 way players in the league. 6’4 180 pounds 6’10 wingspan 21 PPG/ 9.3 APG/ 8.3 RPG ONLY 2.6 TO per game. That’s ELITE Level Current contract locked in for 2 more years UFA in 2024 Important to note that he wasn’t viewed as a pure PG coming into the league. He was viewed as a “combo guard” as well. The one constant though was he had great handles before he came into the league. Being groomed/developed by Spurs definitely helped.
Don't juanna sound like I'm Guardsplainin' but the thing about combo guards is that they need their shots. Rox have to make a decision or two soon. I'm hoping Green can get in 16 fga next season to average 20pts and that's pretty efficient for a young sg.
Man get Anthony Lamb in this game now. I'm worried we're going to win. (Sorry posted in the wrong section...can't delete)
About time someone referenced the second question. I do r know if they would work together. If they did though it would be fun to watch the warriors be dominated by guards as potentially good as they could be.
Same here, Green/Ivey would be one of the most athletic and talented backcourts in the game. It would be fun to see them run circles around GS
I am big on Nix and think he’d be better at running the point than kpj right now but there is very very few things you can look at that nix does even close to what Ivey does …
Ivy should have been told to have the ball in his hands more and initiate things.. it was terrible coaching they kept throwing it down low and that was the wrong game plan ! Ivy will be a stud.. but if we draft him you HAVE to trade KPJ away
This is exactly what it is. It's percentage of plays on the flooor thst end with that player assisting. Guys who bring up the ball and call their own number are just going to be higher.
